So you're idea of being right is something you've never brought up until now? That this invalidates your own words that we would have to take less?

I told you the idea what stupid and it was. We were never going to take less value and we didn't.

A look at three trade scenarios for Tennessee Titans and No. 1 pick - Tennessee Titans Blog- ESPN

    "TRADE WITH RAMS

    Titans give up No. 1.

Rams give up No. 15, No. 43 (second round), No. 45 (second round) and next year’s first-round pick. (I valued it right in the middle, at No. 16.)

JJ calculator: 99 percent for the Titans.

    Titans give up No. 1.

Rams give up No. 15, No. 43, No. 45.

FP calculator: 111 percent for the Titans."

Titans received more value than what was posted in the original post. OP suggested 2 2nds this year and a 1st next year, hence the reason board members were against it. We took a haul in this trade, and I am happy for it.

It always feels good to tell some know-it-all off when they're wrong, doesn't it?

Did you not read the article from ESPN about what REALISTIC trade values would be, for each prospective trade partner? It mentioned there were different charts and that Jimmy Johnson's chart tended to be on the high side. The trade parameters I mentioned in the original post, without the advantage of using any charts, happened to be spot on with the chart Kuharsky referred to.

Who is to say we wouldn't have settled for that amount, if that was the best the Rams or anyone else offered? We were fortunate that they felt desperate enough to offer more, but if the best that was offered was their 2 second rounds and their 1st next year, I'm sure Robinson would have thought long and hard about it.

Also, when I posted this, I had no idea the Eagles would have the interest they had. After all, they just paid Bradford like one of the premiere starters in this league, with a 2yr contract. And then brought over Chase Daniels with a decent contract of his own. It only came to light a few weeks ago that Philly was still very interested in Wentz. Trade offers are based on demand and outbidding other teams. When I first made the post, Cleveland, the Rams and Houston were the only teams known to be in the market for a QB. So, it didn't appear that there would be a huge demand to trade.

It was also before Wentz and Goff had their Pro Days. They impressed and that drove their value up.

He would not of taken the trade. We picked up 2 additional 3rds for a 4th and 6th. I see what you are saying, but the reason the latter part happened was for a reason. We held the 1st pick, and as you are sure about your assumption, I am also sure about mine (JR said give me more or deuces). I am sure we were also talking to "other" teams as well. One thing I do know, is that Lewan was seen as a go, and Tunsil was most likely seen as a NO at 1! I did read the article BTW. Are you saying that the Titans did not receive more value than your OP?

He didn't just say "I disagree." He was a total a$$ about it. So, yeah....I enjoyed giving it back to him; though he's still trying to squirm his way out of it. Same thing many did when giving me a hard time about wanting Mariota, last year.

Most here wanted us to take Leonard Williams or trade the pick...even TitanJeff. He/They wanted to give Mettenberger another chance. Mettenberger has been an unmitigated disaster. At least Mariota gives you hope that we could pull off a win or be very competitive. If we had listened to that crowd, this past season would have been the ugliest season in recorded football history.
