JR lets Browns, Chargers and Cowboys know we're shopping to 49ers and they automatically become interested. I'd rather not trade down past #4 and I'd settle for their 2016 1st round 2016 2nd and 2017 2nd. I wouldn't get too greedy. We'd still get what we want plus a couple of extra 2nd's. Doubt any of those teams will make playoffs next year.

I wouldn't be mad at that either, we still would have a shot at Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack, etc. if not a for sure opportunity at one of them if we didn't trade past #4 plus we'd get some nice draft compensation like you're saying. Good point.

Definitely would take the highest bid/offer; but would be pleased enough to pull the trigger with 2016/17 2nd's if cowboys or browns. And if the Browns traded with us for #1, you can damn be for sure I'd be shopping the #2 pick at a higher price to the Chargers/Cowboys/49ers.

The Jets have a lot of problems and running out of time to solve them.

First, they don't have Fitzmagic signed and are VERY far apart. If they think anyone is buying that they can just give the ball to Gino or Petty...they aren't fooling anyone.

Second, they don't have cap room for 2 reasons. Ferguson is something like a $14mil cap hit and they tried to bluff him by having visits with other free agent OT's...didn't work. Same thing they tried by bringing in RG3. Second, they have a franchise tag for Wilkerson at just under $16mil (which is all cap).

Third, for some reason, they don't want to sign Wilkerson. They have low balled him while at the same time were in the bidding for Vernon at very high numbers. Clearly they thought they could just trade Wilkerson but that is problematic for two reasons. First, this draft class is LOADED with 1st round caliber DL so why would someone trade big for a guy they could potentially get in the draft and NOT have to pay big money to for 4-6 years! Second, with the Giants blowing up the free agent market (Vernon getting $17mil/yr which is MORE than Watt), how much are you gonna have to pay Wilkerson? He's a better player than Vernon but is anyone gonna pay him $18mil/yr?

All this translates into a weak market for Wilkerson and since teams KNOW the Jets don't want him, no one is offering even solid compensation.

So no, I wouldn't take the Jets #20 and Wilkerson for #1 when the Jets will be hardpressed to get any 1st round pick for Wilkerson - let alone the value of the #3 pic in the draft! I do have an idea of how we could go about this type of thing...and once the Jets are desperate enough...

Fitz is getting no visits anywhere, Jets are fine stalling on re-signing his sorry ass.

For everything Fitz does well he does twice as bad in the 4th quarter. Guys just not good in crunch time, and his arm is weak to begin with. No one is dying to sign that.

PK posted an interesting set of scenarios:

    TRADE WITH BROWNS

    Titans give up No. 1.

Browns give up No. 2 and No. 32 (second round).

JJ calculator: 106 percent for Titans. (100 is even, anything over 100 is a “win.”)

    Titans give up No. 1.

Browns give up No. 2 and No. 99 (third round).

FP calculator: 103 percent for the Titans.

I don’t see this as likely. Cleveland will get a quarterback at No. 2, probably the one it likes best. Giving up picks to move up one spot and ensure it gets its guy when there is no apparent threat to move ahead of them isn’t a Moneyball type of move, and the Browns are now operating with a Moneyball style.

If the Titans could make either of those swaps, I’d see it as a major win. The Browns take a quarterback and the Titans still get to choose the best non-quarterback on their draft board.

    TRADE WITH 49ERS

    Titans give up No. 1.

49ers give up No. 7, No. 37, No. 68 and next year’s first-round pick. (I valued it right in the middle, at No. 16).

JJ calculator: 109 percent for the Titans.

    Titans give up No. 1.

    49ers give up No. 7, No. 37, No. 68.

FP calculator: 120 percent for the Titans.

That’s a monstrous disparity, where Football Perspective sees it as a significant Titans’ win if they swap the top pick for San Francisco’s top three picks, while Johnson’s chart requires a first-rounder next year to get even close to the same “value” result.

    TRADE WITH RAMS

    Titans give up No. 1.

Rams give up No. 15, No. 43 (second round), No. 45 (second round) and next year’s first-round pick. (I valued it right in the middle, at No. 16.)

JJ calculator: 99 percent for the Titans.

    Titans give up No. 1.

Rams give up No. 15, No. 43, No. 45.

FP calculator: 111 percent for the Titans.

Again, a big disparity between old-school and new-school thinking on value. The drop from first to 15th is significant, but even the lesser return could bring two additional starting-caliber players and would have to make one think. GM Jon Robinson’s recent comment about needing a “king’s ransom” for a big drop would certainly apply to move this far back.

I would LOVE that Browns trade. Maybe they are crazy enough to take it.

I dont think a trade with Cleveland is happening, they have so many holes to fill and not much to gain by moving up. This class has 2 guys who might be something some day, I sure wouldn't trade up if I were them for one of the two "definite maybes" as I like to call them.

Any Browns trade at all works for me. Still get who we want, and an extra 2nd-3rd round pick. HUGE win.
