The Cowboys know Murray best and desperately need a RB. They weren't willing to give the Eagles what they wanted.

If its no higher than a 3rd I think this is a good move. At least teams will actually have to respect the play action game now. Murray will be a good fit in Mularkey's offense.

I hate the freaking time difference which means everything breaks with you guys after I'm tucked away in bed. I just spat coffee all over my work keyboard reading the news.

After all the recent , this is IMO a welcome change-up and maybe perhaps Jonny boy is going to be truly kicking the cans and not just issuing soundbytes.

Personally if we gave up a 4th or less its a steal. I only have minor concerns about the $$. This is an NFL back with a proven track record that's pretty damn good having had a trash year in a scheme that wasn't for him.

We actually have a real running back. When did we last say that ? His entry means at least IMO Stankey and McCluster are toast and potentially Cobb as well as I wasn't really that sold on what he showed last year.

I'm with you ET. Couldn't believe it when I opened the site this morning.

Agree with what's been said, we'll have to wait for the compensation and contract restructuring to see if we have a good deal or not.

What a weird premise for a thread...

Every GM the Titans have ever had (and will ever have) made moves intended to improve the team.

Do you think they were just sitting back doing nothing?

All that matters is whether those moves actually worked. But they all made moves.

We still have no idea at all if Robinson's trade will be a good idea. Let's maybe hold off on crowning him.

This pick up is huge. Our last running back to rush for 100 yards in a game was Chris Johnson in 2013. The last 2 years should have taught us that drafting a running back has no guarantees. This guy is a bonfire pro bowl running back with records to his name. We have made it to the big leagues in terms of talent, and maybe our young backs can learn a few things. Co Co a Choo Mr Robinson. . . . Great start.

So what is the benefit of Murray over Doug Martin?

    Price?
Guarantee to get Murray in trade vs competing with 6 teams looking at Martin?
    Pass protection?
    Catch ability?

A sampling of what NFL media is saying about the trade:

It's mostly pretty negative, to be honest.

So many of these sports "reporters" have a herd mentality though with very little actual insight of knowledge. The proof will be in the pudding. None of us really know how well he will do here. But, if Robinson really is a great talent evaluator, then I trust his decision over any Evan Silva crap.
