No but you see, value changes. Apparently it's so fluid you just change it to whatever you want to make a point.

Rams would have to cough up a LOT more for me to get behind this kind of trade. More picks and some players. We need all the help we can get.

At 15 I would not be opposed to Elliot at RB. Maybe a little high for him, but I see him as a game changing RB for us. This coaching staff is going to be very run heavy. We have to know that from all of the old coaches we have. They are all stuck in the 80's. If we do not have a great RB we will not have much offense. We got to fix the oline as well so those extra picks would come in handy.

IMO Elliot is hands down the best back in this draft & the only complete back in this draft.

It'll never happen from 15 to 1. 7 to one is more likely, we should be talking about what the 49ers can offer, because Chip Kelly is crazy enough to do it.

Won't happen. Jeff Fisher is still the coach. They will be 8-8...

It's ironic that you brought up the very reason NOT to do this!

Again, you start with suppositions that are probably not true. Is Paxton Lynch a 1st round QB on merit? I don't think so. Is Connor Cook? I don't think so. Don't confuse 2nd-5th round QB's for QB's who can come in and make a difference from day 1. Is Paxton Lynch that guy? Cook? We aren't even sure Wentz is! So just because the Texans could get one of these guys mid-late #1 doesn't mean they are of the same value as a top 5 pick. They are NOT!

So that brings us back to the only thing you have right in this thread. This IS a game of supply and demand. With all the QB's taken every year, there are not enough franchise QB's to go around. Fewer still in this draft. Which leaves teams like Jets, San Fran, Dallas, Chargers, Eagles, Rams, Browns, and Texans in a tricky situation. Dallas and Chargers normally will not pick this high so they could give themselves insurance (Dallas) and draft their future heir apparent without missing a beat. one only needs to look at the huge gap of wins and QB's between Aikman and Romo to see how difficult that can be. So those teams have motivation to get their next guy. The Jets are probably a good QB away from being a contender. San Fran doesn't know if they have a QB or not. The Eagles and Rams don't know if they have the answer at QB and the Eagles may have a contract problem. The Browns have no QB and the Texans are also a good QB (and RB) away from making a run. A 2nd or 3rd round QB may not be a difference maker over a Sam Bradford or Nick Foles. There are a bevy of developmental/backup QB's who might do something one day...maybe. But what QB is gonna be a difference maker this year or the next?

2? There are still many more teams needing than top 10 QB's available. So why would we give a 35% discount when the DEMAND far outweighs the SUPPLY??? you are going against a universal law. In addition, Robinson will be setting a precedent for himself if he gives a discount on the first pick in the draft as GM. It will be that much harder to deal anywhere else in the draft as everyone will low ball him.

As a few people also mentioned, a lot will depend on how the titans and others grade out the top 5, 10, and 20 players in the draft. Certainly, the Titans can play teams off each other as the Browns don't need to do anything...unless someone jumps them and takes their QB. Most scouts think Wentz has the best arm to play in Cleveland and it's 50/50 whether Goff does. If they really want Wentz, wouldn't they move up 1 spot to get 'their guy?'

After all, there is VERY limited supply and very high demand!

I don't think you understand the concept of Supply and Demand as well as you think you do. the value doesn't drop because WE don't need a QB BECAUSE there is still the same low level of supply and the same high number of demand!!! It is only OUR decision making that it gets removed from since we don't need the QB, not the league view of supply and demand.

Just because we have a lot of holes means we are more likely to trade if the right VALUE comes along. Not that we NEED to trade. We are a basement team that everyone expects is a multi-year rebuild. So WHY do we NEED to trade back over taking the best player on the board?

The simple fact is, there looks like only 1-2 QB's who are worthy of a top 10 pick. How many teams could use those QB's? Now you know your supply vs demand at QB at the top of round 1.

Your next argument will be to suggest that a team like Dallas will KNOW we aren't taking a QB and just let Wentz or Goff fall to them (which is why you suggest the value decreases because WE don't need a QB). The problem is, we are MORE motivated to trade out than not so a team wanting one of these two (or one if only Goff or only Wentz is considered a top 5 pick) will feel the heat to trade up or lose out on their QB. Sure they can take another great player...but none of those teams thinks it can get to the playoffs or win the super bowl without a QB.

And fyi, the last team to offer a big discount just as you are suggesting was the Jets trading away the 1st to the Rams for a 3, 4, and 7th round picks. At the time this was viewed as smart because the Jets didn't NEED a LT and got more picks. Parcells furthered this mistake by trading the #6 overall back to #8 for only like a 4th round pick. So he turned 3000 points into about 2000. About a 33% discount. then he took his #6 and gave another 50% discount. Several of the older coaches did the same thing. Well, the Rams went on to win the SB, Pace was a Pro Bowl LT and the Jets draft didn't turn out too well. these are things to learn from history...not repeat them!!!

I'd rather take the top player on my board than give a huge discount for no reason. The only way I'd give a 'discount' was if I got a player back to make up the value missing. Can you say Alex Mack from the Browns if he doesn't opt out of his contract? How about La'el Collins from the Cowboys?

There are ways to work these things out but you can't approach it from a position of weakness when WE hold all the cards! We control someone's future QB and are holding them hostage. That's the way to look at it!

Yea no discount please. 15 is way too far back. Theres some top talent in the first 8ish picks... I would be happy with a trade back and ending up with:

    Tunsil, Ramsey, or Myles today.
