Trent Dilfer has as many touchdowns in his one super Bowl win, as manning has in his two wins..

    The answer: 1 TD pass.

Manning's TD/INT ratio in his super bowl wins 1/2.

    Manning's TD/INT total in his 4 SBs..

    3 TD, 5 INT.

4 super bowl appearances.. 3 TD passes. you heard that right.

@jplusip don't sell yourself short. Dilfer is a superior SB quarterback, if judging by pure efficiency.

Manning averages .75 TD passes per super bowl. and 1.25 INTs per super bowl. That's not good. It's a miracle that he managed to win 2 of his 4 attempts. Both wins, he was not a driving force. Even though he was handed the MVP for the first one, he was not impressive.

Yeah I agree....in fact, last night there were a couple of us on the GDT speculating about him getting pulled. I think it would have happened if:

    1. He was anyone but Peyton Manning, OR
    2. The Broncos would have fallen behind in the third quarter, when the Panthers really screwed themselves over with missed chances.

    Question -
Did anyone else notice on the last Carolina play prior to the clock runoff that a Panther lineman totally tackled and smothered/held down a Denver rusher in the most obvious of fashions? The penalty was called elsewhere and it was never discussed again...

My 2 cents: Manning did not put in a sterling performance but winning a game is about game management so he also didn't lose the game. It is not always being a superstar and saving the day.
As far as any competent QB doing the same job, maybe but without being a standout at some point you would never get the chance to pick your team , the team that has a shot at getting you a second SB ring.
He didn't get lucky he planned wisely. Old and devious will trump young and fast most of the time.

He seemed like an older boxer, who had learned to outlast his opponent when he no longer could count on KO's to get a W..

QB's are not pitchers and should not be looked into so much for W and L's at times. There are some arguments at times, but Manning's ERA would have been way over 7.00 yesterday if this was the case.
