About two seconds into the article and a survey pops up. Sorry dude, I've tried twice now. Copy and paste the article. I will read it on here.

Too long of an article to copy and paste the entire thing. It gives thorough reasones why the NFL is ranked the number 1 sport in the country. The rest of the rankings are: 2.MLB 3.college football/basketball 4.NBA 5. MMA/boxing 6.Nascar/indycar 7.NHL and finally number 8 is soccer. Soccer has a lot of catching up to do to be very relative in this country.

I don't think Team USA soccer can be used to argue for the popularity of soccer.

Put Team USA in front of it, you can make Americans watch any sport.

Millions watched Michael Phelps make his run for record Golds.

Would anyone argue that swimming has a sustainable viewer population of millions?

    No...

Somewhat valid point, but that is part of what has driven the MLS's rise in popularity. You can't ignore the fact that the US had the highest attendance of all outside countries at the Womens World Cup. To say that the sport is lacking fans or enthusiasm is plain wrong. I'm still rying to figure out how soccer even came up in this thread.

Seattle averages more than 44,000 fans. I didn't even truly realize the extent of its popularity until I started looking into it a little. I knew it was a growing sport, but I didn't realize they were expanding the number of MLS teams and how popular the sport had become. Sure everybody gets excited at world cup time, but MLS popularity has carried on and grown at a steady rate.

I've noticed a big jump in the increase of interest in soccer just in the last year, specifically with the younger crowd.

I work in Atlanta, so maybe that's skewing things, but I wouldn't sleep on soccer, especially in the next 5 years.

That younger crowd tends to become the older crowd, it seems...
