can you please provide proof of this?

Im looking over the play-by-play from his games and I see a constant flow of 4 and 5-yards all day with an occasional homerun play..

Lots of false information about Henry in this thread.

Those of us who watched him play know that he is a very reliable, sure handed, explosive back who pummels defenders and blocks extremely well. I suspect that his detractors here are letting their "team bias" show because they dont like the team he played for. I predict he will be a first rounder, and a team will be hansomely rewarded.

    Time will tell.

If Derrick Henry is there at #33 I don't see any scenario that the Titans do not take him. I think they will go with Vets at OL and WR and then draft BPA Defense 1st round and WR or RB second round for Marcus.

Jesus. I'm not going to respond to each comment individually... but stop the nonsense.

"Have you seen him in games?"

Yes. I've seen him get yards because he has huge gaps to barrel through.

    - He doesn't break tackles.
    - He doesn't even attempt to turn in space.
    - He's not fast enough.
    - He's not shifty enough.
    - He's not the "pummeler" he should be to be as large as he is.
    - He's Trent Richardson 2.0... the more generic version.
    - He doesn't catch out of the backfield.
    - He doesn't create his own space.
    - Depends on huge holes to do anything at all.

So for all you "have you seen him play?" types. I'll ask you... did you watch Richardson play at Alabama? Identical type backs. Their producition is a lie because they don't have to earn it.... just run straight. Done.

And for all of you trying to re-invent some Eddie George material... It's 2016. Move on. This dude isn't Eddie George. And if you haven't noticed- that type of back doesn't exist much anymore. It's too fast of a game now.

People say you can't tell how great a player is by watching highlights- however it's very easy to tell if a player isn't that great by watching highlights.

Watch Henry's highlights. Notice anything? They're all runs that anyone could make. Nothing impressive. Just him eating up tons of yards by running straight and depending on blocking.

    There's a reason he's getting third-round grades.

    That's his worth.

I saw him make more than one, in the 3yrs he's played my UT Vols. I hate promoting a Bama player, but Henry is a lot better of a back than the haters want to give him credit for. If he had just average speed, I could see some of the criticism, but do you realize how rare it is to have a power back who is a real threat to take it to the house on any given play?

I wanted us to draft Carlos Hyde rather than Sankey, but even with Hyde, he doesn't have that kind of speed...and thus he is rarely going to break a run for a long gainer. So, if Henry just manages to break a few big runs per game....that's a few times more than most power backs will give you. I'll take that.

People claiming he is just a product of Bama's system choose to forget that Henry was even more productive in High School. Held the national HS record, and practically every program was after him. They also forget that Bama probably coached him not to dance around indecisively, like Dexter McCluster loves to do. He was coached to follow his blockers and make a quick decisive cut when a crease opened up. Real simple...same stuff he'll be asked to do in the NFL.

Trent Richardson was the EXCEPTION. Not the rule.

I see him as high risk high reward. If we had a RB that could catch well and shifty out of the back field already, I would take the chance much faster. Sankey screwed us royally.

If Sankey doesn't improve or blows it again next season, we need to cut him. RB's for 2017's draft will be stacked. That should be the year for us to get our RB.
