Steve Underwood is the CEO. And the single owner "issue" is BS. Who is the single responsible owner of the Packers? Their ownership structure is in direct violation of the 15 partners and 30% rule, whereas the Titans are not. Whatever issues the NFL have with the Titans owners, it's not for lack of compliance concerning a single owner. See Resolution FC-7 from 1985. I'm guessing the NFL feels they don't live up to the requirement for a family company as specified in Resolution FC-5 from 1996, but I have a hard time seeing why not.

I pretty much said the same thing earlier. The Packers have set a precedent and I do not see how the league can hope to win in court. Once you make exceptions for one team, you cannot hold other teams accountable for the same issue. I imagine the Titans could argue the trustee of the trust fund is in charge.

But underwood isnt an owner. There has to be a legal difference in the structure otherwise the league wouldn't be pursuing a change. There is also a reason the Titans and the league are keeping this issue from the public.

Are we sure ownership transferred into a trust to owners or are we speculating that?

If so, I would really like to see the details of that trust. I realize we will never actually see it.

I didn't realize items could go into a trust for someone's lifetime. Would it not expire at some point? If not, do you think the trust dictates what happens with one of the owners shares once that owner dies? If so I think bud made a mistake with that both to the franchise and his heirs.

I actually look at Robinson as the other great hope of this franchise alongside mariota. Actually more than mariota.

I really want to believe that inside himself Robinson knows mularkey was a bad hire, and agreed to the job knowing he would not get blamed for the hire and his plan is to earn enough trust that Amy will allow him full control over the next hire.

Basically I've bought the pitch that this is Robinson dream job and all the stuff about his hometown tn roots. I think he came here despite Amy as acting operator of owners.

Most of what I know about this comes from Florio.

But, because there would be a huge capital gains tax on his family, I expect that the team was put in a trust with all of Bud's other assets.

My knowledge of trusts are limited but, from what I understand, there's a variety of ways it can be handled. Most likely, each individual who received a chunk of the team would have their share divided among those who are their heirs. Example: AAS passes away and her husband receives X% and any children X%.

NFL votes to allow trust ownership of teams
    - SportsBusiness Daily | SportsBusiness Journal | SportsBusiness Daily Global

In a significant change that could ease the way for NFL teams to remain in families, the league last week voted to allow trust ownership of teams, and it dropped the percentage an owner is required to control to as low as 5 percent.

With escalating franchise values making it harder for owners to pass on control to sons and daughters because of mountainous estate tax hits, the league took a step it long spurned, allowing irrevocable family trusts to own control stakes in teams. Under tax law, trusts can shield the heirs of the wealthy from a sizable portion of inheritance taxes that otherwise would be due.

“This is a big breakthrough for wealth transfer planning for NFL franchise owners,” said Richard Greene, a tax attorney and partner with Greene Radovsky Maloney Share & Hennigh. “This opens up for owners of NFL franchises the ability to do the type of planning the very wealthy have done for their businesses for many years.”

The thing about not having a majority owner is from Florio. I think there are other teams who also have multiple owners with equal amounts so don't quite get it. The Packers have a Board of Directors who has the power to make decisions. I don't know how other teams do it.
