He was handed a bunch of pizza franchises because of his celebrity. Not sure how that qualifies him as a good businessman.

Given the size of the man's head alone, I want him with the organization. He'd have to have a huge brain in there.

Sure do..... and I'm not saying he was a good pick. What I am saying is that If the Cleveland FO can put together a team good enough to beat the Titans two years in a row then I would say they are in better shape then ours.

Peyton Manning no doubt has a high football IQ. I have no doubt that one day he would be a great Player Personal guy and or President. But I think it's arrogant to think for him or anyone else to think that he would be immediately ready to take on such positions for a football team directly after retirement. I think he has some learning to do and prob needs to experience more in the business world before giving the financial and business reigns of an organization. Owning a Papa Johns is a fun gig but In no way running that is similar to running a professional football team.

Even he would be well suited in spending time running businesses away from the game for awhile or spending some time learning the game as an assistant with a team before just taking over.

Im not necessarily against Manning being part of the franchise, but my main question is What exactly is he going to do?

Like all these stories I read, Manning is supposed to be part of an "ownership group" OK, if ownership changes, that would be big for the franchise, but I dont know that Manning would impact it all that much. I mean, does he have any say in the Memphis Grizzlies, he is part of a group that owns a piece of them. Magic Johnson has some of the Dodgers, sure he tweets about them, but he generally has no impact.

He isnt going from QB of the Broncos to Titans GM, President, Offensive coordinator next year, or even within a few years. If he were to want some type of position like that, the team would need to be sold first, then there is going to be a time period to work up to him having some permanent influential role.

No idea what people are expecting out of Manning.

Well the thing about losing to Cleveland this past year was we lost the battle of field position. They started every drive at mid-field, we started almost every drive from behind our own 20. That was due to one player, Travis Benjamin rapped us in PR yards. When you lose a game because of special teams, its a little different than if they lined up and straight whooped our asses like some teams did.

We were competitive vs Cleveland, I dont view all losses the same, we were right there to win that one when it was 14-21, but we just didnt, not gonna credit Cleveland for not having Whisenhunt as coach.

I think Peyton would be a great addition to our Front Office mainly because he'd be the only Winner involved in anything Titans at the moment. We seem disastrously out of touch with what is happening in the NFL at the moment and maybe someone with Peyton's stature and success could help bring a sense of legitimacy to us that we have been sorely missing the past few years.

The current GM has been a part of more Super Bowl wins than Peyton
