I assume had nothing to do with the Josh McDaniel hire back then.

Wouldn't want the same GM with mcdaniels they way it was inDenver. Mcdaniels came in 2009 . Sundquist left in 2008.

If it's sincere, I do like the direction they are going in this hunt. Searching for that young, up and coming executive with fresh and new ideas. I think they need to be looking into the Packer organization for the next John Schneider. I have a feeling there is someone there.

Sundquist has an impressive record. 5 winning seasons and was fired after his worst season, 7-9.

During his tenure, Sundquist helped Denver land players such as John Lynch, Daniel Graham, Al Wilson, John Mobley, Brandon Marshall, Mike Anderson, Olandis Gary, Clinton Portis (WAS), Reggie Hayward (JAX), Trevor Pryce (BAL), Brian Griese (TB), Deltha O'Neal(NE), and Nick Harris (DET). Sundquist was known[by whom?] for being one of the more active GMs in player acquisition through drafting, signing free agents and trades.

Under Sundquist, the Broncos became one of the league's most active traders. His most notable move came just before the 2004 season, when he dealt star running back Clinton Portis to the Washington Redskins in exchange for cornerback Champ Bailey, another to obtain Dre Bly from the Detroit Lions, and a No. 2 draft pick that turned out to be Tatum Bell. He also engineered a 2006 draft-day deal with St. Louis allowing Denver to move from the No. 29 overall pick to No. 11, where they selected Vanderbilt quarterback Jay Cutler. As a result, Sundquist's GM term was the start of a franchise-record five consecutive winning seasons.[1]

Ross, Beddingfield, Raye III, Mayhew or Sundquist would be awful.

Need to stick to Ballard, Robinson & Polian. But I like Ballard & Robinson a considerable amount more than Polian.

Sundquist would be better than Polian. And we still haven't got word on whether Paton accepted the interview request but he'd be a stellar candidate.

Yeah Paton is the only unknown as of right now.

Apparently we aren't interviewing Ballard until Monday. I was hoping we would be onto the head coach search by then. Might really fall behind.

Robinson is still my favorite. Wonder if blows them away tomorrow if there's a chance they don't wait till Monday and make the hire?

And as far as getting behind, I'm not really worried. The search will be over mid way through next week at the latest. All of the coaches I want are in the playoffs anyway, with the exception of possibly Gase (and even his lack of experience scares me). Still have plenty of time to interview McDaniels, Jackson. It's more important to get the right GM than to rush the GM hire just so we can interview re-treads we have no intention of actually hiring. We already have MM for that lol.
