I'd rather go with someone younger than Coughlin as well. He only had 2 SB's btw

They just know Ross is coming in for an interview and are trying to connect dots ... But Ross seems to be just a Rooney rule interview anyway so its a moot point

People here are against a coach who has two Super Bowls. Nothing will please you guys.

He isn't my first choice but I'm sure as hell not gonna be mad at hiring a HOF coach with multiple super bowl wins.

You all want these up and coming young guys and I like a few of them but they are nothing close to a sure thing. This guy has won in the NFL for years. That being said I still really want McDaniels but how can you all sit here and turn your nose up at Coughlin when your only real reasoning is his age. Somebody said he only has five years left and maybe he does but I'll take five good years from him over the last five where we've had what 3-4 coaches over that same span.

Absolutely amazing people on this board would complain about going from Munchak to Whisenhunt to Mularkey to a guy with "only 2" super bowl wins.

Tom Coughlin is 69 years old and coming off 3 straight losing seasons. Even if he did have relative success here, we're already capping his coaching career length to what maybe 5 years? At best? There's a reason the Giants are trying to push him into a management position. If he doesn't find success immediately, how will we attract coordinators who know either A. He'll be gone soon or B. He'll retire soon?

It's not about the past it's about now. Same mistake with Whiz making a Super Bowl. "Oh we're too good enough to bring in Whiz who actually made a Super Bowl?" No, cause he sucks. Same with Coughlin but he's old and trending down.

You make some valid points at least other than he's old but Please don't ever compare Coughlin to Whiz.

I compared him in the sense to the Super Bowl appearance/win remark. Obviously not coaching record. I wouldn't just take any coach that has been to a Super Bowl and no other reasoning.

I'm not dismissing the nay-sayers (all of whom make good and valid points). I just have a hunch...
