The Mett Show

I was all for giving Mett a chance and drafting him some help. He's had his chances and done nothing, granted the team around him hasn't helped but if he had any promise he would have at least pulled out 1 or 2 wins.

Adequate backup, nothing more.

No, not even an adequate backup. He's actually lucky to even be in the league.. 6th round QB, 0-9 as a starter, what about that says "adequate"?

 

I agree, a good backup can come and win some games and at the minimum do enough to not cost you the game. With Mett in our offense is dead in the water. We're lucky to get 6-7 points with Mett behind center. He's not even a quality backup.

And to think there were some on here who were ridiculing Mariota and talking such nonsense as Mett being the better QB...good thing those people aren't scouting talent for us...lol

 

This. Whitehurst was/is a WAY better backup. He is going to make the throws given to him, scramble his way to a few plays, and give the team some chance to win.

If the team is going to be competitive, we need to sign a vet or draft someone who is a "game manager".

 

cant wait to revisit this tjread on a few years when metts the starter and qbotf somewhere else.

I really don't get why metts held to a higher standard than mariota. "derrr he needs to win deer" well guess what, mariota has 1 legit win out of all his tries. Week 1 dont count, cuz that offense never worked again, they caught Tampa bay off guard. Plus like 90% of whizs wins the last four years as HC came week 1. He sells out all off season for a week 1 win. Next was the interims first game, a game most teams win and play out of their minds for, they just got someone fired, wanna play extra hard for a week, and they drew the worst pass defense ever. That leaves 1 win out of all those tries. If mett wins Sunday it'll be just as impressive as mariotas three wins, if not more.

dont get me wrong, I love Mariota, kids been great, but lets be real here.

 

I don't disagree with that at all....Just commenting on somebody else's reply that he isn't Glass like RG3 or Locker

 

Ideally a back up only has to come in on relief or fill in 1-2 games max...in that scenario hes adequate. Longer period you're right hes not adequate.
In saying this he will probably win Sunday and phuck up the top pick lol..although I'm ok picking at 2 again.
