College is way different, those kids aren't millionaires. My point is that a great coach can merge different backgrounds and personas into the team's culture and make it work. Desean and Shady were "certified" Philadelphia Eagles. He should have been able to come in and make that work. Stuff like that are major red flags and when you add all the losses , that's why they flew him out the door . I would stay clear of him, we'd probably lose Delanie, Kendall and Zach Brown lol. Just for starters.

What scheme changes did these coaches make DURING the season? Please be specific. As far as I know, no one changes scheme during the season. They may use a different part of the playbook and it may look different, but it's almost impossible to do. Even the Pats don't change scheme, they just go all in on how they attack a defense week to week. Same on D when they combine 3-4 and 4-3 fronts. Are they changing scheme? No, that IS there scheme.

Regarding defense, you said it got worse since he took over. Since he got there, the defense is better since they have given up fewer points. Yes, the D got worse from 2014 to 2015, but a lot of that is a reflection of the offense being worse. The real takeaway is his defense wasn't good in 2014 or 2015. Impressive they won 10 games in 2014 with a defense that bad.

Didn't this poor excuse of an Eagles team just beat NE IN NE?

You keep reverting back to college, and the college game and the NFL are 2 different things. First off, you can treat players differently in college than you can in the NFL.

Really? 3 players for the same price? McCoy made $5.5 mil this season. . . Murray made $5, Matthews made $2, and Sproles made $4.1. I'm not good at math, but I think McCoy was the cheaper option.

No one is claiming he isn't smart or innovative, but his playcalling is very predictable, his own QB even admitted that in a press conference. Other teams would talk about how they knew what play was coming before they even snapped the ball based off of formations.

Handing the man a job after he just got fired wouldn't be a learning expierence for him. Let him go be an OC somewhere and he can watch how you are suppose to treat players and run a team. Letting him be our HC right after he got canned is saying "we like what you did there and want you to come replicate that here". After everything that I've heard about him I do not want him here.

If he makes the necessary changes personally, and from a football standpoint then he would be much more intriguing. Until that happens though, he doesn't need to be a HC.

People seem to have a hard time grasping the fact that college and the NFL are very different. They also ignore the fact that almost every successful NFL head coach has been an NFL assistant in the past. The only two who were successful making the jump to the NFL with no prior NFL experience were Paul Brown, over sixty years ago, and Jimmy Johnson.

Definition of scheme: "a large-scale systematic plan or arrangement for attaining some particular object or putting a particular idea into effect" Attacking a defense different week to week, by definition, is changing scheme. The plan is week to week and the "attaining a particular object" is a win.

When the Steelers lost Big Ben, there scheme went from utilizing their big play receivers, and balancing it out with some runs with DeAngelo to running the ball with DeAngelo and balancing it out some down field throws. Went back when Big Ben came back. Mike Vick and Landry Jones combined for 63.6 yards per game and 70.9 yards per game, respectively. Big Ben has over 300 yards per game.

Rex Ryan didn't run the zone read in NY. Tyrod Taylor was the reason he changed his scheme this year. Utilizing he and McCoy with the zone read.

When Andy Dalton went down for Cincy, they haven't taken as many shots downfield. That's evidenced by the 8.4 yards per attempt for Dalton and the 7.5 for McCarron. Not to mention McCarron throws for 107 yards per game and Dalton was 240. Changed the scheme drastically there to compensate for their personnel on the field.

Chuck Pagano, Luck averaged over 250 ypg and Hasselbeck is under 200. Again, a change in scheme based on personnel. Gore's workload has increased since Luck's absence.

The defense gives up way more yards but gives up less than one more point and it's improved? His defense has been awful every single season and it has improved, therefore it has gotten worse. That offense puts too much strain on a defense to be successful. Same story in college too.

Yes hire Chip. At the very least, he'll bring some much needed media attention to Tennessee, attracting better FA's and more prime time games.

He took over an Eagles team that was pretty bad and immediately turned them into a playoff team. And he turned Nick Foles into an upper tier QB for a couple seasons.
