Don't get me wrong, I understand that OL is a huge problem for us. I know we need to fix it, but I'm just not sold that it's worth #1 pick in the draft. Even if Lewan was willing to go to RT. I'm confident we can find a fix in FA. Then we can use that high draft pick for an impact player that will elevate our entire team, like the effect JJ Watt has on the Texans or Sherman had for the Seahawks. Whether that's Bosa, Hargreaves, or Ramsey I'm not sure just yet.

It's becoming evident to me that we need to go OL with our 1st pick. Which really sucks because I love Jalen Ramsey. But we have to keep Mariota on his feet and let him make plays. Potentially we can sign a couple new offensive line starters in FA, then hold off for OL until the 2nd-3rd.. allowing us to take Ramsey.

We need to protect Mariota, don't want him to turn into David Carr dude.

Take Tunsil, move Poutassi to RG. Still need a center. Probably resign Byron Bell for depth. That should give Mariota time to make plays & healthy.

Which means we need to find playmakers in free agency and day 2 of the draft.. theres come decent FAs out there Forte, JPP, Alshon, Wilkerson, Amukmars, Eric Berry, Nick Fairly, Greg Toler, Mo Claiborne, Sean Smith. We have the money, just don't have the brains or balls to use it. Grab a RB/WR in day 2 & also Jayron Kearse to replace Griffin.

Bottom line is we have to improve this OL. Mariota is the most important thing in this franchise. If we don't sign Andre Smith or another quality tackle in FA, then we have to go Tunsil. I know it sucks having to spend three top 10 picks on OL in the past several years, but we HAVE to protect Marcus. Shouldn't even be up for debate.

Tunsil makes the most sense. Go the Cowboys route. Drafted OL for years and that line is dominant. We need to protect our investment. I know OL is boring and everyone bickers, but the harsh truth is we BADLY need it. It's an awful unit. Tunsil makes the most sense.

Yes! More premium resources on non-premium positions!

Laremy Tunsil isn't going to make Taylor Lewan or Chance Warmack better, that's the issue at hand. He won't sure up the unit.

How is LT not a premium position? Last time I checked, that's the most important position to nail down after getting your QB. As I pointed out a few days ago, look what happened against the Patriots. Mariota goes down with an injury again because of our OL.

When the most vocal reasoning for not going LT is just ignoring our issues because of draft history, that tells me there isn't a good reason to not go LT. Yeah, Lewan is probably a better fit at RT now and yeah Warmack was a reach, get over it. Crying about our draft history while our stud franchise QB is getting killed is not the smart move. It's not the "sexy" pick, but it is the right pick.

Thinking this team needs to draft a FS 1st overall while Mariota continues to miss games because of the OL's incompetence in lunacy.

"Just fix the OL in free agency" how about just fix the DBs in free agency?

It's also not like this team is a player away from actually contending. We're essentially looking at back to back 1st overall picks. When it comes down to it, Ramsey or Tunsil isn't going to shape our team into a winner overnight. What I do like more about Tunsil is, he's more of the value play. He improves the LT slot, improves the RT spot and creates more flexibility at the Guard spot with Poutasi and Bell. He keeps Mariota upright and healthy. He improves the run game. Ramsey provides us with a better safety net and gives us a playmaker on defense but how many wins does that translate to? What's the drop off from Ramsey to a guy in the 2nd round? Compared to Tunsil and any other LTs out there?

Last time I checked we drafted a LT at #11 18 months ago. I'm not ready to give up on Lewan until he gets out from under Bostad and this **** offensive scheme.

OL free agent class is better than the DBs, especially the safeties.

Again, three of the guys starting on the line won't be starting next year. Two of them weren't starters at the beginning of the year and the other was moved from guard to tackle midway through the season.

The hit that knocked out Mariota today wasn't even on Lewan. It was on our #4 LG and Antonio Andrews not being able to pick up inside pressure. Laremy Tunsil would make those guy better though.

Meanwhile, our starting Ss are terrible and Perrish Cox is a journeyman stopgap. At least we have McCourty coming back though!
