Ask Jim: More Questions as Raiders Come to Town

I used the little "Ask Jim" feature on the Titansonline.com site to see what the insider thought about us taking Tunsil. He said, "Lewan is NOT moving to RT". It could just be guess work; but he seems fairly confident Lewan will not be moved from LT.

That being said, no team with any sense uses the #1 overall pick on a RT. Especially one that is a LT. Wyatt could be lying, not know what he is talking about, or just putting out what the team wants him to say. However, I believe him. He has always answered those questions honestly and has been good about not commenting if he was unsure. He was firm in saying; "Lewan was picked to play LT and that's where he will stay."

I am not ok with using another top 10 pick on an OT. Not because it is not best for the team. We could absolutely use an upgrade at LT, RT, & C. I am not ok with us using the top pick in 2016 on OT because we SHOULD NOT HAVE TO!!!!! It is absolutely unacceptable to be in this position AGAIN this year. I hate what Webster has done to this team.

Yes it may be the right thing to do. I just hate the hell out of the fact that we still need to do so. The resources, money, and time that Webster has squandered over the years on this oline is ridiculous. Webster should not be in the position to make this pick. However, if he is still GM; do not look for him to pick an OT at #1. If he picks another OT in the top 10 he will be highlighting his failures to fix the biggest issue he has attacked as GM.

I hate another OT pick high; but if Webster is not making the pick I will get behind it.

I saw that with both of them to be honest. I only watched two games of each though. Not enough to form an opinion.

Tunsil has a great lower body, he is very fluid. His footwork and hip movement are as good as any lineman out there at any level. He is about as NFL ready as you can be. Stanley might be better in the long run, but he has a longer way to go. He is above average in pass pro but still lacks a lot in run blocking. He's certainly not a "mauler" type. He should be a great linemen in time but I don't see him being a great lineman from day 1. Tunsil will be IMO.

As much as I'd like us to have a competent OL, it does seem to have gelled a bit better these last few games. Honestly it's a toss-up for which is worse, the OL or Secondary.

IMO, the secondary is worst. I want us to go back to hard nosed football and have a feared defense again. If I were GM I'd consider picking Bosa (DE), Hargreeaves III (CB), or Ramsey (CB).

I think we can fix holes in the OL in the 2nd round or FA. Preferably fix it in FA and go safety in the 2nd.

Problem is, our OL is playing DOWN to the lowest common denominator. Lewan and Warmack are not playing like 1st rnd picks. I'm shocked at disappointed at Lewan's play. It's not Levitre bad, but he's getting beaten far too often for a guy who was a first round pick, puffs himself up as the leader of the OL, and has his talent. I like that Lewan talks about how HE needs to improve first...but I'm not really seeing it. And I think at least part of that is that this OL seems far too confused as a unit. We have too many plays where someone blocks no one. And I'm not talking about getting beaten...but rather being confused WHO to block and they don't even get a hand on someone. Too often that guy is in the backfield forcing our RB to break tackles just to get back to the LOS.

I was talking to some Jets fans at the game that we probably lead the league in changing 2nd and medium into 3rd and long...on RUNNING PLAYS!!!

We have a far greater problem than 2 guys are good and the rest are scrubs kind of thinking. When Oher can be terrible playing RT here but can play LT successfully on another team...that speaks volume to our GM, coaching and scheme issues!

The problem is, our OL problems are killing our entire offense and getting our QB beaten up. Our secondary is a problem but would be a lot less of a problem if our offense could move the ball regularly. Even adding Ramsey or Hargreaves doesn't help as much as you think if our QB is sacked 5-7 times and we are constantly punting the ball back.

But even with the OL being the BIGGER problem, I think the fix or at least a good chunk of it will have to come from a new GM, HC, OC, OL coach. And like others, you ONLY draft a LT in the top 10. So if they can't move Lewan to RT, OL will not be the pick there!

And frankly, I wish we could get Ramsey AND Hargreaves!!! Let Hargreaves play CB and Ramsey...play EVERYWHERE!!!

If selecting Tunsil would somehow elevate Lewan and Warmack's play too then I would be OK taking him. It would be nice if we could also add an impact RB like Henry or Elliott in the 2nd.

Having said that, if Bosa is the best player in the draft (like many are currently saying) then we wont pass on him.

Even if Bosa is the best player in the draft, do think we really need him? I think our defense is currently 12th in rushing yards allowed. Would he make that much of an impact? Versus fixing our secondary or OL?
