I can understand limiting audibles given the youth that we have on offense. For a good part of the game we had 4 rookies on the field together...Mariotta, Gallick, Spain, and DGB....sometimes it went to 5 rookies when Fowler or Cobb were in the game. That is way too much youth to expect your offense to be consistent.

Like I said, I get there are rookies out there. However, running a play that has no chance like the one at the end of the 3rd on 2&10 is giving away a down. If you have a professional football player that you cannot trust to get in the correct formation; should they really be on the field??

Rookie or not, we are 11 games into the season. If the players we have cannot get set up on the LOS we have real coaching issues. These guys are making millions a year.

I am not talking about having 20 different plays to change off to if the look is not correct. I am talking about having a couple of pass plays set up so that if the defense is stacked, as it was; we can get out of bad plays. Surely these rookies can practice a few plays and be able to adjust over the course of several months of coaching.

If they cannot adjust to a few different runs or passes; we have much bigger issues. I just cannot believe that we cannot teach a few runs & passes to use as audibles. We cannot continue to line up in bad play selections and give up downs. Mularkey thinks he knows the tendencies of the opposing teams well enough to call the plays before seeing the defense they present. It is not realistic.
