So will this be the year that Georgia actually parts ways with Richt? It seems like Mark has been on the hot seat for a decade. He just keep hanging around too..

I think he's a good coach. I would be hesitant to get rid of him if I were GA. They could certainly do a lot worse. GA has their ups and down like every other program, but Richt consistently delivers a decent post season every other year or so.

I just feel like sometimes team with good coaches try to gamble at the wrong time and end up busting. The firing of Phllip Fulmer was a move I never really agreed with totally and Tennessee hasn't been back since.

Georgia also has been putting together one hell of a recruiting class and for 2016. Dont get me wrong, If GA want to fire Richt and give Arkansas another crack at Whaley, I'll take it! I just dont think it's the right move right now.

    What say you @Scarecrow ?

This is not a good year to be pumping up the SEC as a tough conference top to bottom.

    Vandy has no offense.
    Missu has no offense.
    South Carolina is terrible.
    Georgia has been disappointing.
    LSU fell off.
    Auburn was not very good.

Georgia and LSU might be looking for a new coach after the season. What does that say about the conference this year?

It's not like 2012 when Bama blew up ND and there were maybe 3-4 other teams in the conference that could have beaten ND. It was also a terrible post season for the SEC with Ole miss getting blown up by TCU and miss State and auburn losing bowl games and Bama losing in the playoff.

I love the SEC, i think there is no better conference but we are not head and shoulders better than the other big 4 conferences this year.

Down years happen. I think outside of Alabama, there are like 5 schools that are in the same area and just beat up on each other. Ole Miss was lucky to beat Alabama then let that get to their heads. UGA fell off after the Chubb injury. A&M is a mess inside the program. Tennessee is a pretty good team but have blown at least 4 games this season. Florida lost their QB. LSU was finally exposed by not having any game plan in case Fournette gets stuffed. Miss St is a pretty good team, but all they have is Dak.

I still think the SEC this year is better than the rest, but it's a lot closer this year than it has been in a while. I like Alabama as the best in the country but after them I'm not sure if I'm confident in any team to win a big game when bowl season comes around.

If AP voters are basing their votes on SportsCenter highlights then they shouldn't be voting, we can both agree to that.

I would also imagine that would be the top game this year so far but I would also like to see the rest of the top 10 and see how many Big 10 games are on there.

Anyways, this is how I see the final 4 shaking out.

    1. Clemson - Personally, I don't think they're the best team but they're undefeated and in a major conference so you kinda have to put them here. They'll roll South Carolina and struggle with North Carolina, maybe pulling away with a bigger lead towards the end.

    2. Alabama - I could see them at #1 if Clemson really struggles their last couple of games, but even then it's a bit of a stretch. Alabama should beat Auburn handily and have a nice victory over Florida. Among potential shifting in the spots, you can pretty much write Alabama in pen for the 2 spot.

    3. Michigan St - This would be Oklahoma but they don't have a conference championship. With Michigan St already having a "victory" over Michigan and Ohio St, they notch another top 10 win against Iowa. Which should bump them to here.

    4. Oklahoma - Getting hot at the right time, if they survive the shootout against Oklahoma St then they'll make it in. The other contender is Notre Dame but they'll probably lose to Stanford anyway and if not, their resume isn't that strong.

From there, I have Clemson being upset and Alabama beating MSU in a ground and pound with a tough defense kind of game. Oklahoma may be the scariest team right now. Mayfield is a really good QB, the run game is coming around and their defense is better than the stereotypical label given to Big 12 schools. I still like Alabama here, but it'll be a great game.

Ohio St fans: You obviously need a win vs Michigan and a MSU loss to Penn St as well. It would also help if Iowa beats Nebraska, to give you a bigger victory in the conference championship game. Oklahoma losing is also the most likely out of the top 4. If all that happens, you could be back in it. Baylor is the only other school with an outside shot.

If OSU or MSU win the B1G they're in. The only one that could sneak past a B1G champ OSU would be ND but I don't think that happens even if ND beats Stanford.

Even if Iowa loses to Nebraska and then wins the B1G, I think they are still in. They would get in over all the P5 teams without a conference title and I think being a conference champ gets them in over ND.

I think it will look like this:

    1.Clemson
    2.Bama
3.OU - or undefeated Iowa or MSU
    4. OU - or Ohio St or 1-loss Iowa

If Ok State beats OU, I think they will likely get the 4 seed behind any of the B1G winners.

Unless major upsets happen, I think these are the only teams in the running with ND having an outside shot. If major upsets occur then teams like 1-loss Baylor or 2-loss Stanford have a shot.
