    Same here. We know he wanted Mariota so bad he was willing to sell the farm to get him. No reason to think he wouldn't want to take a crack at coaching him, now that the HC'ing gig has opened up. Kelly would be my No.1. If he wasn't available, then Hugh or Briles. But IMHO, Kelly seems like a natural fit, now that MM8 is here, and he has some weapons around him.

    except he wasn't at all willing to sell the farm. The offer came out a few weeks ago. He offered trade if firsts, any QB of theirs, and any defensive player. That was it.

    Maybe not. But right before the draft, media reports kept saying a boat load of player trades + their 1st Rd pick was offered. The point stands...Kelly wanted his former protege bad enough to TRY and move up to get him. What the official offer was, we may never know...but he did try.
