Is someone actually arguing for Ruston Webster to keep his job? Did you not see the utter lack of talent on the field last night?

Offensive talent might be the worst in the league. If there is a team with less offensive talent I haven't seen it yet. Seems like every other team has one guy you need to at least worry about. The Jags have Allen Robinson. The Texans have Hopkins. The Colts have Hilton. We have a tightened whose 31-years old.

We have yet to have a plus game from special teams and that is a direct reflection of a lack of quality depth. The very best we can hope for is a stalemate on special teams. With a team that is lacking talent at every position on offense a decent return every now and then wouldn't hurt.

Actually, yes. There is a hierarchy of responsibility in any corporation. Certainly the VP of player personnel is responsible for the quality of the personnel on the team. Certainly the GM is ultimately, if not primarily, responsible. Subordinates occasionally are over-ruled and that subordinate can "go on record" disagreeing with their superiors choice. Not the wisest move, but really the only way to identify on record the disagreement.

Wow. I definitely have to disagree. Our OL is doo-doo. Even our 1st rounders are getting their azzes handed to them too frequently. Our WR's are mostly doo-doo. And we've spent a ton of resources. Our RB's are doo-doo. Walker, Wright and Mariota are it.

Coach Whiz was too stubborn to modify his system/scheme. He was doo-doo for that.

We averaged 5.8 yards per carry against supposedly a top 5 run defense in the league.
Looking at the total for the year is a little misleading because some idiot thought playing a guard at tackle was a good idea. But even then we're sitting right in the middle of the league in yards per attempt.
We rank low in pass protection, but part of that is having a rookie QB and deciding a TE can block Watt...
With the right scheme and playcalling I think the OL and RB are good enough to win you games. Not great, but good enough.

Looking at Mariotas stats, even though he does need better accuracy on the deep throws, his yards per attempt and completion percentage are up there with the best of them. So apparently these terrible WR's and TE are actually catching something after all.

IMO, the single biggest reason why we're losing games is that we're 29th in 3rd down conversion. And when you're otherwise performing well that goes on the coaches, not players.

Truly astonishing that anyone can actually try to defend Webster at this point.

Here's a stat which tells me a lot:

In making big plays, the Titans rank 28th with 5.88%. By "big play", we're talking about runs over 10 yards and passing plays over 25.

And the Rams are 3rd... We already know Mariota isn't great on the deep throws. That Patriots have roughly the same number of offensive snaps as us. They have 26 big runs and 23 big throws vs Titans 25 big runs and 11 big throws. They have a HOF QB, we have a rookie QB and WR and a bust WR. What do you expect?

I could care less about Webster as such, but by criticizing him, you're saying our players aren't good, andI'm telling you most of them are a lot better than the record reflects. Mainly because we make piss poor coaching decisions.
