Uh no, he came to the Titans in 2010. But of course don't let facts get in the way of your hate.

The average contract length for anyone doing what he's doing and even as head coach is 4-5 years. And they are given that amount of time to get things turned around. So you say he's been here since 10.

Are you ready to extend him for another 5?

I'm pretty sure he got a new contract when he was made GM in 2012, so I assume he has at least 1 more year.
Unlike Riverman I won't blame him for drafts he didn't have control over (ie 2010 and 2011) and I think 2012-15 have been solid drafts. Sure there's a miss here and there like Hunter and Sankey, but every team has those.
I think the hit rate has been pretty good. When I look at the players on the field I see a lot of skill and talent, but it's not being put to good use by the coaching staff (well the offense anyway). Our scheme and playcalling is bipolar. We see occasional creativity usually with success and then immediately revert to being conservative predictive.

You got me there. It's been 6 six years not 7. Wipe his love out of your eyes.

So the Vice President of player personnel isn't responsible for the quality of the personnel? Do you work for the govt?

He sure has our OL and WRs well staffed. And he's killed on rounds 2-4 hasn't he?

Who was responsible for the picks on offense? Webster or whiz? If Webster then he needs to go.

Webster is the GM. He is "responsible"- same way he was "responsible" for picks when he was VP of player personnel. He has been "responsible" for the talent level on this roster for the past 6 years. He was "responsible" for the Whiz hire.

GM's over-ride what a coach wants if it is counter to their own idea of what is best for the team. Webster may be too passive when he let Munchak and Whiz direct the personnel choices. It doesn't remove his "responsibility". It indicates he lacks the vision and/or confidence to direct personnel choices in a better fashion. He is responsible for those choices regardless of who is RUMORED to have made them.

If there is a singular factor in why we have struggled as a franchise over the past 10 years, it has been the below standard performance of our GM position. Reinfeldt was horrible. Webster was his understudy. It is beyond comprehension (to me at least) that we advanced the protege of the guy we fired. It certainly doesn't surprise me that the talent level of our team (particularly the offense) is below the standard.

So the VP and the GM are both responsible? What if the VP disagrees with the GM? Is he still responsible for something he didn't advocate?

I guess we just have to disagree on the quality of our players. I don't think our talent level is below standard. We could use an upgrade in the secondary and wide receiver, and in particular the miss on Hunter (and DGB if he doesn't turn it around) hurt us. But really it's the misses on QB and WR from the last decade that hurt us the most.

Win four of the final six games? I don't see it.

Regardless, there is plenty of data on Webster already. If the ownership hasn't made a decision on him by now, they are incompetent too.

Yeah, I have to believe the decision has already been made (to fire him). There's just really no point in firing him midseason. How do you possibly justify keeping him around at this point? His hit percentage on both draft picks as well as free agents is way too low.
