    Oldboy is good - but once you know the deal it doesn't have the impact on subsequent watches.
    I do really like I Saw The Devil..

    For sure. I can't really hold that against it though. Really well done regardless.

    Yeah I Saw The Devil was also amazing. Just watched that one within the past year or so. Those South Koreans sure can establish a mood, that's for sure.

    City of God was a great movie to watch.....the reality of crime and slums in brazil. Well filmed movie and entertaining.

    Trends in cinema come and go, but one thing that remains constant is the need for strong, relatable characters; compelling storytelling; relationships which touch our souls and conflicts which challenge our strongest convictions. I highly recommend "Big Ass Spider!" to avoid all of these qualities.

    Yeah I really like that flick. There are few somewhat lesser SK films worthy of checking out still. A vampire flick called Thirst which is made by the Oldboy director. The Host is fun, but a little long.
    Then there's those Japanese Miike flicks which are disturbing to say the least.
    Audition, Ichi The Killer etc..
