If Whiz was still coach, would we have won?

If that is the case it just reinforces my feeling of "good riddance". Players move around a lot in the modern day NFL.

If the Whis system is that complicated it is no surprise to me that he has lost so badly in his recent history....not enough folks stick around long enough to really implement the system properly. As such, this system is actually useless since it is not practical IMO.

    I buy it.

I never thought the team quit or that Whiz lost the locker room. There was just a disconnect somewhere.

He only went with those runs because he was sure we could get the fg from the original spot. I'm not totally agsinst it, even if we lost, sucop has a hell of a leg. One missed tackle and it's an easy reg time win

That's something that's inherent in any system, not just in football. You will eventually get into the area of diminishing returns as the complexity increases. It also creates the problem of no wiggle room if part of it fails, and there's greater opportunity of something going wrong with that increased complexity.

The best, most intelligent complex system in the world isn't worth a dime if it isn't taught, learned, implemented, and executed properly. A simplified system that everyone understands inside and out is MUCH better than a complex system that people can only grasp 80% of.

I don't know if Whis was trying to cram too much complexity into their heads or not. If so, that would explain a lot. He was trying to do too much.

Liked the fact wright was out. Forced us to target Hunter and DGB. Weve spent to much on these guys not to utilize them more

We get beat 42-13 with that old coach.

This game proved that the players gave up on Whisenhunt and his ways. We looked like a totally different team today without our best WR.

If we can play this hard the rest of the year, I wouldn't care about the losses. Just play hard and show progression. I think Whisenhunt put this team in too deep of a hole to climb out of this year.

Screw the #1 or #2 pick. Just show some progression and get the necessary reps.

    Props to Mularkey.

I don't think the players gave up on Whiz. From everything I've read/heard from players they loved him and thought he was a great coach.

I really think it came down to stubbornness and play calling. Whiz was dead set in his way or no way, whether it worked or not.

Take a look at the Oline. It was obvious it wasn't working when they averaged 4 sacks a game and got Mariota hurt. The first thing Mularkey does is switch things up and it works. 0 sacks and very few hits on the QB. Whiz let his QB get smacked around for 7 games as things got worse and worse.

This team could have an entirely different record with better in game adjustments and play calling. Colts, Bills and Falcons games were all there for the taking. It took firing Whiz for this team to win the close one. I think that says a lot about him as a coach.

Two key plays in the redZone would have been forced runs... The play action pass to Walker and the cross body TE sneak both wouldn't have been called. The rest is negligible outside of protection which was obviously a lot better
