Yeah, I agree and I'm not giving up. I'm just saying the chances of us beating the Falcons are slim to none so if he's not 100% there's no reason to risk him suffering a major injury this week for nothing.

My optimistic side is still hoping that we right this ship this season, my reaslistic side is telling me it probably isn't going to happen the way things are looking.

 

If his knee is that bad off, yea sit him this week and don't even practice him.

Have a feeling his knee is just sore. This level 2 stuff could just be a hyped up injury the team/NFL does all the time.

If Mariota isn't starting, Mett needs all the practice he can get this week.

 

If he plays well.. that is 100 percent good. Since when is it a problem having an extra good QB?

I doubt either of them would win this week. But I'm not going to root against Mett, just because he can be a threat to our starting QB.

 

Great point. For some reason I have a feeling Mariota will play, he doesn't strike me as the guy willing to sit & I don't think our coach is smart enough to make the right decision.

 

Yes they will heal on their own. The only way they will need surgery is if they are torn in a way that they cannot regenerate. You and I can sit here and debate this over and over. The fact is he does not need surgery and rehab will be sufficient. 2-4 weeks is the time for return. In athletes, you avoid surgery at all costs.

 

You two seem to be arguing different points. He said if it's torn it won't heal on it's own. You're talking about Mariota, which isn't a tear.

 

So what's your point?

 

Ok, i was a little tipsy last night, maybe that's why i read it wrong. Just to add to this my brother played qb at mtsu and had a mcl sprain that required no surgery. Then, the next season had a tear which did require surgery and lost him his scholarship.

 

Mariota says his chances of playing this Sunday "are pretty good"
