The Future of the Titans...

Yeah I know what you mean...We are more competitive and keeping games closer, but the outcome is the same. I see a team with little attitude, faith, and fire. That is on coaching. I also see once again, guys in positions starting that have no business being in...Again, shades of last year with Whiz. It's frustrating bro, I hear you. I mean, here we are 14-13, and I literally had zero confidence we could or would pull it off. That's a damn shame.

 

The defense is playing with intensity, ranked #1 in the league vs the pass in fact, and offense is finally sustaining drives. We're a competent but young team, these growing pains were expected. We're not in year-2 of Whisenhunts system anymore, that went out the window when Mariota arrived, its back to zero, this will take some time...

I said this the other day; as long as we're around a 7 win team, this year was a success. Last year we couldn't even compete, now we're going blow for blow til the end of games.

As long as Mariota is healthy, we'll continue to grow...

 

We've played some pretty real bad teams thus far...

 

Bad for NFL standards, maybe.

But there were games last year we looked like a semi pro team, just to be back fighting with a Rex Ryan defense is a good sign...

Sample size is too small to know whos good or bad yet..

 

Mariota is FOUR GAMES into his carrer and people are already labeling his ceiling as an average QB? That's just a joke. It's also a joke to think he's a future all-star this early. Let the kid atleast get a year, probably two, under his belt before we start labeling him anything.

With that said, I def took a step back in my Mariota hype train. He had a pretty bad game, worst of his short career. He struggled with his long ball, the 3-4 passes downfield he had, and was throwing behind receivers all game. He'll correct that, just needs to get on the same page with his new targets. I still have faith that Mariota is the answer at QB.

 

Why does everyone keep talking about 6-7 wins.....

 

No doubt bro....I didn't expect us to be good this year...MAYBE 6 wins---7 tops....but they have to figure out a way to stay ahead (Ie Colts game) and or come back. it's tough to watch. I do think Marcus needs some extra weapons as well, and Sankey sucking doesn't help our cause.

 

We're playing very competitive and well enough to win. It was not like this last year. But at the end of the day its the W that matters the most. 4th quarter defense has let us down 2 games in a row...ridiculous. I go back to that 3rd and 25 play where Taylor scrambled for the 1st down, that was the killer, after that we got the sense our D won't hold anymore.

I just Wiz coached or called plays on offense like he wants to kick the Shhhhh out of the opponent. 10 point lead and the plays are so damn predictable. 1st down, run, second down run, then 3rd down pass. By the 3rd and 4th quarter defenses already know what to expect. Its still only 4 games in, we can right this and start winning. Just need the coaches to call the right plays and players to execute on the field.

 

The thing that pissed me off the most about that 3rd and 25 play was that there wasnt even a damn spy out there. Thats totally unacceptable. I still believe the past 2 games the team has been playing pretty good, we just fail to finish at the end. I believe that will change, but who knows.
