Can't argue with that. Fisher is a bit over a career .500 coach (heavily padded from the McNair era and 2008), with a sub .500 record in the playoffs, and whiz has been terrible. Doesn't make me long for mediocrity. The later fisher years, munchak, and today have all been horrible.

We would have the later years fisher, not the year 2000 fisher. Whether you're 8-8 or horrible, the end result is the same, if you aren't a winner, you're a loser. Fisher, after 21 years as a head coach, hasn't won anything. It took a miracle trick play to make it to the super bowl, and he's laid an egg ever since.

BTW, in one of his biggest playoff games (and last one) in 2008, Titans lost a lead against the Ravens.

Being mediocre doesn't do anything. Look at the Chargers.. Picture of mediocrity, and they're close to losing their team. And they routinely at least make the playoffs regularly.
Anything short of a few playoff wins is a complete failure, we just have our standards set so low, because we're Titans fans, and the Titans have been a laughing stock, if not completely irrelevant for over a decade now.

Well he developed Rothlesberger, Rivers had his best season with him, resurrected Warner... and currently Mariota looks WAY beyond anyones expectations going into the season.

I personally don't fault him for not developing skelton/kolb/etc in Arizona or Locker/Whitehurst but thats up to you to decide. Just saying we've lost two clsoe games and if you change two play we're 3-1 (course you can play this game with a lot of teams...).

He didn't resurrect Warner's career. Warner literally brought his own playbook pretty much told him, these are the plays that I like, that I can work with and what makes me comfortable.

He needed a veteran Super Bowl MVP winning QB to coach him up on how to use him.

I don' think people are questioning Whiz's ability to develop QBs, it's his play calling that blows.

You would think if he was half way decent he could if not should have pulled out one of the last two games. I was on board with him as coach at the beginning of the year and was until this afternoon. But something is missing with the team. I'm not sure if I like the way he handles Mariota on the field or the sideline. I don't believe he completely trusts him. Maybe it's because he knows something we don't.

I mean giving up that 3rd down and twenty something after what happened vs the colts 2 weeks ago is insane and calls for some extreme act. Just on General Principal. #Unacceptable

Newsflash: it's hard to win a Super Bowl. Very hard. I know Belichick and Brady make it look easy, but it's not.

We won a bunch of playoff games during the McNair era, and not so much after. What's the difference there? A quarterback.

IIRC the player was in position, just didnt turn around. Nothing any coach can do about that.

Personally, I think he trusts him fine, Mariota had the ball in his hands to end the game. Mariota has the ability to change the play on the field it looks like. He doesn't trust the Oline though imo... thats why he's stubborn trying to set up the run. It will be more effective against different DLines.

And yet this head coach is 3-17 with the Titans and has lost his last 28/32 games as a head coach. He may be great as a qb coach, but otherwise he's a bum.

I say this because he is running a strict run on first and second down and passes on third. Everything Mariota is throwing is high percentage and short. To me he seems unsure about something. Maybe it is the line.
