With This Roster What Do You Expect?

    There are 18 players on this roster with less than two years experience, that is over one third of the roster. And those 18 players are not just scrub backups, many of them are seeing significant playing time. As long as I have been following this team I have never seen so many young players in key roles. Inluding:

    Da'Quan Jones -- Starting DE
    Deiontrez Mount -- Main backup OLB, raw 6th round rookie
    Angelo Blackson -- Part of DL rotation, 4th round rookie

    Marcus Mariota -- Starting QB
    Bishop Sankey -- one third of RB rotation
    Antonio Andrews -- one third of RB rotation
    Jerimiah Poutasi -- Starting RT, third round pick, what a joke
    Taylor Lewan -- Starting LT
    Jalston Fowler -- FB, seeing significant time
    Dorial Green-Beckam -- third or fourth WR depending on how Wiz is feeling at the time
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Offense in particular is very much devoid of talent:
    • It is a disgrace that the best option for RT coming out of camp was a third round rookie
    • Brian Schwenke is a horrible center and the team does not even try to upgrade
    • Backup OLs consist of two rookies (6th round and undrafted) and a guy who was cut by four different teams last year
    • Only two consistant receiving opetions in Walker and Wright
    Talent is very poor on this team and the lack of experience is showing with a team that does not know how to win.

    I expect to see Andrews running it up the middle much more often and much less of Sankey, right off the top of my head.

    I expected 6 or 7 wins. I expected coaching to not be responsible for most of our losses.

    Not exactly sky high expectations....

    I want to know how the biggest mismatch player in the NFL has "only" been targeted a grand total of : 5 times so far this season!

    Thats not 5 targets in a game - thats the entire 1st quarter of the season.

    Don't care if he doesnt know the playbook 100% - if hes good enough to suit up throw him the damn ball!

    I assume you're talking about DGB. He is not the biggest mismatch in the NFL. Maybe he will be, but not right now.

    First quarter of the year we go 1-3, I was honestly thinking we'd be 2-2 at this point in preseason.

    If we go 2-2, 3-1, and 2-2 or better the remaining 12 weeks I think that could be enough as far as the last wildcard spot goes.

    The fact that we're actually dominating for 3/4 of the game only to meltdown tells me that the talent is there and that there's something else causing us to lose.

    We may not be stacked with talent but to keep losing games when we are clearly in control seems like a deeper problem than just talent. If it happens one game then that's one think but this is now a trend and I can't put it all on a young, talentless team.
