Defense is just pathetic. Corners are abysmal.

Running the full back for the fourth time in the same formation is pretty much inexcusable.

But in all honesty, the defenders playing their arms on deep bombs happened last week and this week.

 

OK. We'll see. I'm the one making arguments instead of "wow whiz sucks our 2-14 team isn't undefeated"

 

The front 7 are at least doing their job.

But the 4 in the secondary are killing this team.

Has Searcy made a play this year? I'd take Pollard right now, over Searcy.

 

guess it's a good thing i "missed" the vols game.. i can't even be assed to bother with them anymore and from the groans today, i'm not missing anything

if Mariota didn't show promise I would be in the same mindset for the Titans.. just no ****s given at all

These last two losses fall on our horrible secondary. You cannot give up big plays downfield repeatedly and expect to win. The freaking ponies suck this year, luck is a pick machine. Yes the 2 pt call was very predictable, but it's easy to second guess a failed play because it's impossible to really know an alternative outcome. We need mccourty back in a bad way. I think we are sitting at 3-0 if mccourty doesn't get injured. This team will continue to get better, we have new schemes and new players, they just need time to start clicking. But what we have been seeing out of our rookie qb week after week is exciting. I still think this team is in the playoff hunt. This team will win at least 6, im thinking 8 or 9

 

We have the fastest QB in the NFL and we never even try a bootleg at the goal line? Both times when we were on the 1 yard line the first play we should have tried was a play action bootleg with a TE sneaking out into the flat.

 

I'm looking at the schedule and think the team wins 3-4 more games.

I'm not trying to be entirely negative. The team is far more competitive than last year. Majority of the losses we will have this year will be full of lessons to learn from and moral victories. I think we have a Franchise QB in Mariota. But this team is still in rebuilding mode. They need to get some experience and learn how to win games.

As much as I hope for some unknown reason, something clicks over night and this team comes out hot during the bye. I also wouldn't be surprised to see them lose 3 straight.

 

Here's the thing- Whiz had some bad calls today but he is not the problem. Offensive execution is the problem. Mariota is the real deal, and has the potential to be great, but he's going to make mistakes and have growing pains, which for a rookie should be understood. If Walker doesn't lose that pass it's possible we win the game. The field goal that should have been a touchdown would have given the win. It's not Lebeau's fault either - he's a legendary defensive coach with lousy depth in the secondary, which is much like the lousy depth in the O line. Even with that we were in this game until the last play. Yes we should have won, but this was a positive outcome for avery young team that has more heart than it has experience. Other issues- face mask non-call on Mariota in the first half that would have given us a first down instead of having to punt.
