Travis Laboy. Has anyone mentioned him yet?

Oh and Rocky Boiman. I only remember them because of their memorable names. Lol

My gosh, what a fun thread. I couldn't wait to read thru all the comments till the end and then contribute my own.

MLB Al Smith - in either Sport or Inside Sports magazines, may they rest in peace, they offered Smith the best compliment possible, that he was good enough to play IN THE NFC! Granted, this was during the 35+ year Super Bowl streak, but still...

RBs Marion Butts and Ronnie Harmon - can't remember if they played on the Titans at the same time, but I believe that both played their last seasons with the Titans. Marion I believe converted some crazy # of 3-and-short plays, like 13-14 when under two yards. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I'm at least in the ballpark.

OL Irv Eatman - what an appropriate name.

RBs Spencer Tillman and Allen Pinkett
OL Doug Dawson - all three of these guys had spots on the local news channel. Tillman obviously became a broadcaster and can still be seen on tv today, but you also had Pinkett's Previews and Dawson in the Trenches. I'd love to see Tillman's famous 'Hulk Hogan' impression re: the Oklahoma Sooners again.

LB Lamar Lathon - I was such a fan of this guy, #57. Drafted out of U of Houston if I recall correctly. I just knew that when Buddy was hired as the DC that he would lead the league with 50+ sacks, but it just didn't happen. :\
(side note, my all-time favorite Astro also wore #57, Darryl Kile. RIP.)

QB Bucky Richardson was my namesake in High School (and here on this board!) I was a huge Aggies fan and loved seeing him drafted by the Oilers. I still have his game against the Jets, the infamous 'punch' game, somewhere on VHS. When my buddies and I played football, I was always the QB b/c I was too slow to play anything else, but I could throw decent enough and scramble just as well. That's what originally generated the nickname.

WR Derek Russell - I live near him here in Northwest Arkansas and run into him quite frequently at the local bars. We actually worked at the same company at one point and when discovered this, I went home, rounded up every football card that I had of him, and had him sign all of them. I believe he was pleasantly taken aback by my enthusiasm. I've heard many stories from him about the team; who the a-holes were, what the coaches were really like, etc, but promised him I would never pass that stuff along.

TE Ben Troupe - not great in the real NFL, but still tears it up in Madden 2005 which I still play religiously. Not a fan of the series from 2006 to the present.

WR Travis Hannah - anyone? Anyone?

Last but not least, was surprised that nobody mentioned...

K Tony Zendejas - no particular affinity, but for some reason I can't think back to that time period without old Tony.

I did like the Billy Volek to Drew Bennett connection during the 2004 season. That was about the lone highlight of the season. They were light's out during that three game stretch they had. To bad that was the year our defense starting getting real bad.

Alonzo Highsmith - for the game in 87 vs the Bengals that got the Oilers back in the playoffs
Allen Pinkett - for that game in Cleveland where he ran riot the year after?
Tim Smith - too young to ever watch him but his name was on my first ever Oilers jersey
    Zendejas!

This one takes the cake for me. Had we taken this guy over Dyson I have no doubt that we win at least 2 Championships. Fisher does finally get VY a legit WR, Randy Moss no less, and uses him as a f***ing decoy. Granted Randy was well past his prime but at that time we could have made a real run.

The shortest DL I ever saw, Glenn Montgomery. Listed at 6ft, I think he was shorter.
