He was rated by virtually everyone as either the best or one of top 3 backs in the draft. The problem is that it was a pretty unimpressive draft class for RBs last year, at leat going into the draft. But count me in among those who still wanted to take a flier on Crowell later in the draft.

The only person I saw to have Sankey rated #1 was Mike Mayock. Mike Mayock is an idiot.

We also had a hole at the QB position. We addressed that.

You came in here like Mariota was the greatest thing to happen to the Titans. Now it's "I'm not sure if the team is right for Mariota" that's why I said that's a cop out.

If he is as good as advertised, than we just filled the most important hole on the team. We will be better.

If he isn't as good, that will also fall on him.

I don't think I'm making myself clear. My apology.

Mariota IS the most aweseome thing that has happened to the Titans. I haven't gravitated away from that.

From hypothetical stance (And not my feelings at ALL), with the way Webster has handled himself and the moves, perhaps taking Mariota and not taking a trade that filled other holes might have been a mistake. I just thought it was odd the way he handled the draft. He got locked into an idea and didn't come away from it. Instead of taking the best player over all, his plan was to surround that rookie quarterback with a bunch of young, unproven players. And if you listened to him after the draft. That's what he did. Just weird is all.

I love Mariota. Always have, always will and he's the best decision Webster has made. And it may afford him one more year.

I just hated the arguement pre-draft that we should take the eagles trade because "we have so many holes elsewhere". You get your QB first and then build around him. Doesn't make sense to build a good team and then try and get the QB. And what you said just kinda felt similar to that.

I don't care who the coach is...the players that get out there on the field and play matter more than anything.

With some luck and a decent roster any coach can win. With bad luck and a **** roster, any coach can lose.

Yes, the coach needs to be able to game plan and manage the game, call the right plays etc etc... But theres only so much a coach is in control of during a game.

Personel decisions etc have been bad for this team for a long time. Can't blame it entirely on coaches either.

    Yes and no.

First, we need better players. Webster had many opportunities to improve holes on this roster including a Pro Bowl caliber OG who wanted less than Levitre after we already decided to bench Levitre. Options to go after OL in the draft but reached on Poutasi and took another run playing DE instead of grabbing us an OT or another OC/OG in the first 4 rounds. Not only getting guys, but making good decisions on whether to keep and pay them is another failing. Signing Levitre was a mistake it's taken him into his 3rd season to realize. Signed Oher and Bell to contracts even though better players were available in free agency and the draft. Signed Griffen to a Pro Bowl caliber contract even though he didn't and doesn't play like it. And we continue to pay him!!! Mismanaging the roster and drafter are why we are behind many other teams in terms of talent on our roster. He needs to go!

Second, Whiz needs to do a better job as a coach or he'll need to go too. I wanted Whiz to come here because I believed in what he was selling but I would have fired him after last season. You don't take a 7 or 8 win team, add talent to it and turn it into a 2 win team. And while there were many reasons for this, Munch was essentially fired for being middle of the pack. We add talent and do worse and no chance Whiz gets canned? No accountability from the GM followed by no accountability from the HC = poor play and less than ideal attitudes. Whiz was a good part of the problem last year. He preached accountability of coaches and players and yet did we see underperforming players or coaches get benched or fired? Anyone coaches get canned after the season? Any players underperforming (Levitre for instance) get cut for a poor season? Nope. And he also preached a mismatch offense. I saw it done to us but didn't really see us do it to other teams....so where was the offense? And when you have guys off the street to protect your QB, you either have to call 3 step drops or give them blocking help...not go with a 5 man protection and expect Mett to have time to throw it deep!!!

At this point, the OL will be our downfall if we don't get it fixed and while they have finally benched Levitre, promoting Poutasi at this point might get Mariota killed and the combo of Bell, Schwenke and Poutasi will either allow us to run or they won't. If we can't run it'll be the Mariota show until he gets hurt...quickly followed by Mett getting hurt!

We need a stout OL so we can pound the rock and limit Mariota's exposures to 3rd and long. If we can do that, the offense can sustain drives, keep TOP, score points and keep our D rested!

    Whisenhunt sucks.

We knew this when he was hired.

The only hope was that he surrounded himself with good assistants.

Whiz is an OK coach. Webster overall U.S. Just not a good GM. Ownership has been weak not to have replaced him. 90% of our personnel decisions have been abysmal. Well below league average.

Im not a big fan of rustons, i think he's an average gm though. A lot of teams in this league make worse decisions, but a lot of teams make better one too, he's right in the middle.

Whiz is a good coach. He knows he's an o guy only and has brought in 2 good defensive minds to help this team. Horton and lebeau would not come coach for a scrub. We tanked last season, WE WERE NOT TRYING TO WIN after locker went down. You cannot judge whiz on last years performance. We will be a much much better team this season, no question. I for one am glad we went 2-14 instead of going 6-10 like munch or fisher would have and we wouldn't be able to get our qb. If your gonna miss the playoffs, might as well get some top picks. It was a smart move.
