I really don't see him in the long-term plans. He'll play this year and both sides will move on.

I'd have a difficult time giving a guy like him an extension, even if he plays well.

So Zach Brown is getting run out of town because he a) had a disagreement with the most incompetent coaching staff the Titans has ever had and b) got injured? Smart....

Nothing, they're probably using the time for preparing Mariota for regular season, where it matters.

Keep something in mind no one wants to bring up. In game 2, we were playing at home and even though traditionally no one game plan's for week 2 of the pre-season, we clearly did...probably to get the home crowd cheering for this team. So we looked quite a bit better than maybe we should have. In this game, we have a bit of the reverse. We had a short week so not much game plan time but the chiefs had the time and it showed...even on some of the new option plays that had totally covered.

We had 3 main problems in the game. First, there is never an excuse for poor angles, effort in pursuit and tackling. Second, the noise factor exacerbated the mistakes/poor play in the OL which had a serious trickle down effect on the run game. And 3rd, penalties!!!

It'll be very interesting to see who plays in game 4 and how much. One of the few things Whiz said after the game that I liked was that some players "Earned a spot in game 4...and not in a positive way!"

I agree that the short week probably didn't help. But as you pointed out the problems were things that game planning wouldn't fix!

Game plan or not, you have to tackle and not make stupid penalties at the most inopportune times.

When you play a pressure defense, people need to make plays. Cox should have had a pick, instead he stumbled for just a sec and missed even knocking the ball down. Should have been a pick six, instead it's a TD! ZBrown needs to ball out and tackle like his job depends on it (it does).

For me, this game was a step back for Bell and Poutasi who both had rough games imo. Bell is huge for a OG but still got bullrushed back into the QB. Poutasi has technique/balance issues to clean up and if he continues to start, he will get Mariota beat up (at best) or injured. An OT can NOT whiff on a pass rusher. Poutasi needs to take a step back while he works on his technique and Meredith needs to be given a shot with the 1's. Put Meredith at LG and Bell at RT or Meredith at RT and keep Bell at LG. Meredith has been one of the most consistent OL on the team in preseason. Even though it's only against the 2's, he needs a shot at the 1's. Poutasi has kept his inconsistency he showed with the 1's and 2's, give Meredith a chance. Still very mad at Webster for not signing Wisniewski and Mathis. Our offense would really be clicking!!!

Very impressed with Mariota. His first pass play was probably his worst as he didn't seem to read the defense well and threw it away. Whiz didn't do him any favors getting plays into him late so he couldn't check out in time. And while most people loved the read option scramble, I would have liked to have seen him throw it to the WR on the swirl route. I liked 2 things mainly. One, he worked well in his (first?) 2 minute drill and 2nd, even when he doesn't look like he's having a good game, he still did a good job finishing 7/11 for 99 yards and 3 carries for another 22 yards with a 92.6 QB rating. His QB rating has gone up every game (and frankly would have been much higher if not for the 2 drops (1 a TD). He's still got a lot of work to do but he's certainly on the right track even with his OL/Run game not helping him out much!

I thought Mett was both better and worse than the box score would indicate. He had 4 balls that could/should have been caught and Hunter had 3 of those. These two are just not in sync. Last game Hunter was open and Mett couldn't hit him. this time Mett hits him and he doesn't catch it. Ugh! But Mett also had more errant passes in this game than Ive seen in a long time with throws either too high, behind or both! If we had signed Wisniewski to play C and Mathis to play LG, Mett might have a better pocket but behind the 2nd unit with Levitre and Poehls...not good!

Didn't focus as much on D this game as Im still focusing on the OL.

Poutasi could've gotten Marcus killed. Justin Houston is a merciful guy and we all should write him a thank you letter for holding back and not destroying our qb. This O line and scrub RB's are going to make it hard for the rook. My prayers are with him , he's a nice young player and I like our tight ends and receivers as well. It seems ridiculous to not go all out to bolster the O line.
