Honest Mariota impressions and predictions

Hes better than anything we've had in years. He's not a drama queen like vy, he isn't made of glass like locker, he's not cracking under pressure like mett(or eating boogers....)

I don't care about records being broken, i just wanna win some damn games.

 

He still has to put up with having three stooges up front blocking for him, but I think that hurts the run game more than the passing, Mariotas stats will come.

 

True, but at least he can improvise when they blow it.

I'm more concerned about more of the same from the rest of the team.

 

Unflappable is a good word to describe him. A few bad plays does not put him in desperation mode and force him in to more mistakes. Have to love that.

Very poised and in control for a rookie QB. The whole worry about how he would adjust to a pro style offense should be gone for anyone who has watched him play. He's smart and knows what he's doing.

3.5k yards, give or take a few hundred and around 20 TDs and I'd say that was a successful rookie campaign.

I worry more about the pieces around him than I do Mariota.

The only way I see a disastrous season for Mariota is if he gets injured. Other than that he will be the best QB we've seen in a while. Even if the record doesn't reflect it.

 

I wish he'd stop running off to the sidelines. Even at Oregon he wasted a lot of time scrambling left and right, get up field and slide or don't take off at all

 

I have liked what I have seen (and read about) so far this season. I think he gets 3500-4000 yards this season with 15-20 TDs. He may get more picks and fumbles than I would like, but part of that will be on the OL IMO.

My biggest fear is that he gets hurt by some blind side or low hit that impacts his abilities over a longer term.

I am being realistic for wins/losses....I view 6 wins this season as achievable. More than that will be a pleasant surprise.

 

I'm getting the games (even one while in FL) and have seen all 3. Looks better each game, more comfortable and in control. Would like to see him throw it away some plays instead of taking a hit. Overall very impressed with the kid, nowhere to go but up. I plan on coming out to a game or two this year since I'm a drive away.

Defense will improve when the real games start IMO

 

So, it was feared that he'd drop his eyes and take off too soon when he was drafted, yet you don't like him scrambling around behind the LOS buying time for his receivers?
When you're looking to pass against one of the best pass rushes in the NFL, and you have this O-Line, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

 

I'm talking about him thinking he can outrun Justin Houston when Houston has the angle on him

for real tho he's looked like he can be the future for us..that said jcb was this cocky bout Jake too..dont get too big a head jcb.
