Defensive Thoughts After Game 2??

    Starting this thread to discuss defense after Game 2 of the Titans preseason.


    Personally, I thought the 1st team looked good and it seems like we might have some depth at key positions. Sensebough looked good as well as Al Woods which means we might have the starters and depth at the positions we struggled at last year.

    I think our run D is definitely improved from a year ago. Threw 2 games against some good competitions we've looked good there. Waiting to see about the pass D. Consistency is key so that's something I'll be watching the next game.


    Looks like we could have a solid team this year if we continue to improve on both sides of the ball. Could be a tough division again.

    I loved how we stuffed the run, and finally had an INT. I don't know about you guys, but I really enjoyed how the team was playing with an attitude last night.

    The D definitely was better, but like you said, consistency...consistency.....consistency. I have high hopes so far!

    I felt bad letting Britt go just because we hadn't had a receiver like him before in a long time.

    Now, I don't feel so bad.

    Same way with Cook.


    I think we have a system now that the players believe in and some real athletes who play with passion who can finally help us compete for the division again.

    Don't want to get too excited, but this year has started off a LOT better than the past few. We used to be proud Titans fans.

    Everyone said they weren't going to overreact to the first game. Everyone was wrong.

    I'm sure we will be GoTitans for a week, and then everyone will revert back to GoLemmings because of something on Friday.

    Rams were gassed from Fishface overworking them in camp. I am at best cautiously optimistic after game 2. I need to see more to get excited.

    I think this D will accel in stopping the run, which was a killer for us last year.

    If we can stop the run, and force teams to be 1 dimensional, that should help the pass D some as well. I don't think our pass D will be any better than average, but if we stop the run and put teams in a lot of 2nd/3rd and long situations, then I think we will be fine ... just need to make a couple of plays each game.

    I think they practiced against the bootleg this past week. That didn't look as bad. 1st team looked good but I'm concerned with depth.
