Trading Mettenberger

No reason to trade him this season other than someone just giving up the farm. Keep him here and if Mariota is the answer trade him next year.

 

I agree. We don't trade Mett THIS year except for a first or a second AND a player. PERIOD.

He will most likely be called upon and his value will only go up. At the end of this year we can determine how good Mariota truly is, our OL issues should be sorted out and our need for 2 star QBs becomes a luxury. We cash in when another team is desperate for a QB.

 

How frustrating would it be if the Titans brought two of the best QBs into the NFL in a new era?

 

I'm gonna go ahead and say Mariota is definitely the answer, it's now just a matter of can his body hold up for 16 games.... I don't expect 16 games from anyone in the NFL, so we still need a viable QB shall Mariota miss time...

But yes, if we were to move him we need to wait til next offseason, not like we can put any incurred draft picks to work this year...

 

I thought both QB's played well. Mett made a beautiful throw in the end zone, but also threw a few over receivers. I think people forget Mariota is facing the 1st team D. I was so impressed by his patience at the line, hard counts, and the way he was picking up formations. That is HUGE for a rookie. That roll-out bootleg was filthy too. I think he is the truth as well brave...Friggin DMC burned him.

 

No team is going to give up a 1st rnder for Mett, but if they offered it I would jump on it. More than likely if a team is desperate for a QB this late in the game they are going to have a bad season and thus a high draft pick.

 

The worst scenario would be if Mett had to play a lot this year and ended up being terrible. Then no one is going to trade anything for him next year.

 

I've seen enough to know that isn't likely.

A lot of people said that they would do the trade for a first rounder or a second rounder and a player but that's not likely to happen. I think a better question is what is the minimum you would consider to trade him. For me, I would do it for anything above a 4th round draft pick or any player who would start on either offensive line or defensive line.
