Hoooold up. Was clearly superior his sophomore season Jamis was. Not his junior. And the issues with his junior year were extremely evident in that first pre season game.

Also the major difference of rg3 and the duck is how quick they decide what to do with the ball. Rg3 continues to get mauled cuz he's not getting rid of it.

Comical to watch. At least we are not dealing with a situation similar to the Skins. That joint is a dumpster fire!

Now I know I'm just jumping in here... But I wouldn't rather have any of those issues... Also, how can you tell that pocket awareness can be poorly developed from a shotty OL? Are you specifically speaking of only Griffin & Mariota? Granted that quick reads and short passes have/will be incorporated in their development; there is only so many routes that can be run there. While RG3 has been in a bit longer now, he's also not getting time. Mariota will go through similar struggles if they don't give him time. Check downs, tucking and running, and pocket awareness all have an underlying theme. "Ran out of time"

There will be no "time" for our QB. That point is painfully clear. We certainly have weapons, it is the best receiver group we have had in years (something we have been bitching about forever), that being said, we will struggle in this area. I believe our best option is to pound the running game. It is what we are suited for at the moment. We need 2nd and 5s, not 3rd and 8s. It is going to be another long year from my point of view. I just can't see a whole lot of positives at the moment. Hopefully we do not get our QB crushed trying to be cute. It is crazy to me to think that not too long ago receivers were our biggest problem, and now it might be our best asset- and we can't protect the QB.....

I wouldn't jump ahead and say this is the best group of receivers we've had in years. Yes, big names and tall bodies a plenty... Just not quite there as far as a solid/consistent group goes. See, it's kind of true to the whole team, not consistent. Bunch of flashes of what could be great if they did it on a regular basis... Only thing that is regular from my POV, is being inconsistent. Whether OL, DL, secondary, special teams, LBers, RBs, etc. etc... They can't put it together at the same time or from one game to the next. Specifically in the WR corp, Wright has a good game, then slips (literally) up and has a down game. Hunter has flashed in a couple games and training camp, yet can't break into the x role. Washington was the only consistent threat we had and he's now a Texan(puke). Coaches are putting these guys in the right spots they just aren't executing regularly. Now Mariota seems to be that quiet leader that will motivate these guys... Not to mention he's dead on accurate which will help the most. I don't think there is a way to be cute with Marcus, they are just using some of these plays, because they show his strengths.
