After the Rams game they will want him but he'll be signed by Seattle before that!!! And just to stick it to us, he will keep Levitre on the roster even if Whiz replaces him as a starter and a young backup will be cut instead!!!

 

I agree except Poutasi isn't ready to start yet. He didn't have a great game in game 1 and that was against 2nd stringers whom Meredith and Velasqez didn't have any problems with. He has a lot of technique work to do - especially in keeping his balance when he engages - or he will get our QB's killed. When he misses or falls off, it's not good. When he keeps his balance and is smooth and delivers a nice punch, he gets it done but he needs to be a lot more consistent with this in both the run and pass game.

Our best bet is to sign Mathis and insert him at LG and then let Schwenke, Velasqez, Bell, and Gallick fight it out for OC, and Bell, Meredith, Stingily fight it out for RT until we find someone better. I think this would help our team tremendously!!!

 

Blackson pick is fine by me. They liked him and jumped a little but in retrospect that panned out. He has not only played DT but been DaQuan's backup at DE and been pretty impressive. On draft day, I doubt anyone figured he could be quick enough to play DE.

 

I find it difficult to believe he would pick us over Seattle anyway...unless we offer more $ and that's all he wants

 

Um...that pick is not panning out because they should have used it to fix our OL which is still in a shambles. Nothing against Blackson, but he was a luxury pick for us as we had starters and quality depth there but not on the OL.

And everyone had him projected to play DE...

 

I don't see Seattle offering him $6.5mil and I'm sure several teams inquired about what he wants and the reason he hasn't been signed is that no one wants to pay him full market price. If we had and were the only team and gave him a starting spot for one year, why wouldn't he come here?

 

This is true. I expect him to go to a contender, but Seattle has practically no cap space. What would they even be able to pay him? Chancelor hasn't even shown up yet lol.
