If mariota gets an injury like RG3s or flat out isn't good then having Mett is so important. Silly to suggest that RG3 is bad cause they didn't trade Cousins.

Its like fourth rounder next draft or insurance at the QB position. Who are we drafting in the fourth round that is more valuable then a QB? If Mett continues to play good it increases his value for next year.

Seriously if we trade away Mett we're betting that he sucks. Any other scenario we're better off keeping him. A fourth round pick isn't worth that to me.

I like both QBs. I think Mariota is the man but nothing is absolute in the NFL. Its like 70% Mariota 30% Mett, thats enough to me to hold onto mett. Not enough to gain by trading him away.

If I were buffalo though I'd be calling for sure. They have absolutely nothing there. I'd be kinda interested if Buffalo managed a trade for him. Good D and Watkins/McCoy. Not the OLine you would prefer for Mett but 100 times better then Tyrod/Cassol.

I'd take that bet all day long. If mm goes down we might as well let cbj or tanney play. We are doomed anyways. So trade him, if we can get a 4th or better.

METT GOT HIS CHANCE TO PROVE HE COULD BE A STARTER!!! What part of 0-6 manages to slip by some of you hard-heads? If he showed enough to solidify that position, last year, we don't even entertain a QB at No.2.

The denial is strong with this one.

As adamant as I have been that Zach isn't a starter in this league, I have to hope he is pretty close. Reason being, we've been bitten multiple times in the past several years by the injury bug, at that position. I'm sure the Titans took Mariota not because they thought Zach sucked so bad that he would never develop into a decent NFL QB, but because doing so would give them a franchise QB + a backup that could win some games if necessary, in Mettenberger.

You also have to factor in Mett's injury history last year. They were getting ready to let Locker walk because he was injury prone. Do you put all your chips, then on a 6th Rd pick who was just as injury-prone? If they did, they'd probably be looking for a new job at season's end. It's just that simple. We didn't just need to find a franchise QB, but we also needed some quality depth at that position.

If Mettenberger is developing well, that's good for the Titans, and it makes no sense to entertain a trade at this point
