That's funny as hell if he said that. lol. I do think he would take it hard this off season as well. I guess time will tell how we make out, but I would be crazy happy to finally have 2 solid QB's for once.

 

Yup...of history tells us anything we gonna need both.

 

I like mett, he has a big league arm. This is however a business. That is the way the NFL goes. Things sometimes are not fair. But mett is the backup and does have a chance to compete and get better. It is His career he is competing for. Glad to have him on our team.

 

Mett will be fine. He'll get his chance at some point, either from injury or if a game doesn't matter. He'll do well- he has a cannon of an arm.

We're going to need him sometime this year.

 

Wright could be dangerous for us this year. Mariota is a quick read and quick release kind of guy, perfect for Wright and PPR fantasy leagues this year.

 

So... he wanted to sit on the sidelines hurt all of the time?

Its very rare for a 6th round pick to get the opportunity that Mett got last year ... esp in his Rookie year. Mett should consider himself lucky that the got the chance.

Now as far as him being named the 'starter' this year ... This is the NFL. NOTHING is handed out. The truth is, he had his shot last year to prove himself, and he didn't do enough to convince the coaches that the job should be his. Regardless of how many wins he had, and taking into account the talent around him ... he still didn't do enough to convince the coaches 100%, beyond a reasonable doubt that he job should be his.

Thats not getting 'done dirty' ... that is just the competitive nature of Pro sports. If someone else better is available, then you may very will be replaced.

Now that being said, Mett DID jump up 1 spot on the roster (from 3rd to 2nd string). His play might not have been good enough to convince the coaches that he should be the starter (and lets be honest, he didn't do enough to be the unquestioned starter). He got himself some name recognition around the league, and better job security by jumping above CBJ ... This is MUCH better than what your average 6th round pick will accomplish.

The Titans gave him the opportunity, in the NFL thats all you can ask for ... In reality, if Mett musters even 1 win, then he is probably the starting QB this year.

LOL at people thinking you can go winless and just be HANDED the job. Hell, Locker won more games than Mett last year, and no one is saying he was 'done dirty' when we didn't take his 5th year option.

 

You want a QB that got 'done dirty'

Brock Osweiler ... as a 2nd round pick, you expect to have a legit shot at competing for a starting job within a year or so. And on most other teams he would've had that shot by now.

Instead he gets NO chance to play in games, even in mop up duty. He is also getting all of his practice reps hogged by an aging QB that has 1 year max left in the NFL. By the time Brock's contract expires, he will be a 2nd round pick with ZERO experience and very little reps. His development will likely be behind, and it could be very hard for him to find a real chance as a starter anywhere.

That is being done dirty.
