Have a gift card to Longhorn and going to see Ant-Man tomorrow in the early afternoon to avoid major crowds. Going to be a good day.

    "Terminator: Genisys"
Very much enjoyed it. Played a couple of minor standard tropes along the way that I had to overlook but overall worth it. It mercifully erases that awful Christian Bale timeline. Young Arnold, old Arnold and T1000 all compete for the attention of a younger and hotter Sarah Connor. Cautionary tale for the Google/NSA generation.

    Finally watched Whiplash.

Damned good. J.K. Simmons is a beast on camera. Makes me sick to see him doing dumb commercials knowing his capabilities.

I liked the Terminator Salvation a lot. I never let myself get so stuck in canon or expectations that A HAS to lead to B, and then B HAS to lead to C as far as content goes. The whole giving his body up to be revived as a cyborg is pretty awesome IMO.

Saw Ex Machina last night. Good movie. Kept me guessing on a lot of things. Alex Garland wrote and directed it.

His first novel, The Beach, was a good one and was made into a decent movie with DiCaprio as the lead.

    Saw Ant Man last night.

Not bad. Way better than expected. Worth a matinee cheap viewing. Not groundbreaking, but not a studio killer like some of the peanut gallery said.

Perfect part for Paul Rudd. I think the Avengers will be more fun with his role. His jokes actually work, unlike most of the jokes in Avengers AOU. It all ties together pretty nicely.
