Last time I watched hockey Turco was in net for the Stars and Zubov hadn't retired yet.

I will say that the rule changes etc have hurt hockey a bit...and no doubt, people don't truly relate to the games superstars like other sports for sure.

If you feel the season is "way too long", I assume you don't watch NBA or MLB either? I don't, but just making the comment since one is the exact same length, and the other is nearly double the games.

I love hockey, but I'm also Canadian so it's in my blood. It and football are the only sports I watch, everything else is extreme sports. I enjoy playing basketball and baseball, but I find watching either on tv is incredibly boring.

NBA and MLB seasons are also too long, but they do have the superstar power. NBA, more so.

NBA yes, because of Lebron. MLB, I'd say no. Only guy I can think of is Bautista (sp?), and that's only because he's on the Jays. Only others I could think of are Jeter, or maybe a couple other Yankees. But I don't even know if they're still playing, and I'm sure they're far from superstars at this point.

Because of Lebron? Tons more superstars than Lebron's bum ass.

MLB, true. Which is why it also sucks, I suppose.

If there are a ton more than Lebron - MLB easily has ton of Superstars.

The MLB superstars may not get the same attention as the NBA. There are plenty of young budding superstars in the MLB.

    No faces though.

NBA has a ton of well-recognized faces.

Youre right - NBA does have more well-recognized faces. They have more, elite level superstars.

MLB still has it's share of face recognition for its superstars. Closest ball club to Nashville? Atlanta Braves? Makes sense no one else here recognizes the tomfoolery ya'll claiming about the MLB and its lack of stars.

    MLB has plenty of faces.

Pujols. Trout. Harper. Verlander. Fielder. Cabrera.

All easily recognizable to even the most casual baseball fans.

Baseball is odd though. Most marketing is local. Most of these guys don't have national branding.
