So you're saying one good rookie year should get a QB paid close to elite money? With 53 men on the roster, and a position that could have a calling book built for him be blown out the next year. You're so absurd it's absoltely****ingridiculous! Really hope that doesnt get censored, because you sir are a complete moron. If you want to pay guys elite money based on one year, well I could give you an "awesome" list of guys to sign. Just keep them far away from this franchise.

IMO ALL contracts should be incentive based. The rookie pay scale is nice cause it makes signing your guys easy, but as for the rookies themselves, they got shafted on that part. The top picks get paid fairly, but the guys in the 2nd-7th rounds are severely underpaid (the ones who make it)

I completely agree with incentive based contracts (at least how it sounds). But how would you implement that with salary caps. It would also really mess up the fa period. But, maybe incentive based contracts for rookies would work.

Incentive based deals are done all the time, it's escalators that mess up teams salary caps. Most contracts include some level of both, but the agents want the guaranteed signing bonuses so I doubt what us fans think will ever be more than what it is today.. Nfl players are already getting cheated on their contracts, none of them would side with us on this...

But from an outsiders perspective it's a decent idea

    Post is just wrong.

    Career ending injuries happen.

Difference between $1.5 million and $50 million guaranteed is astronomical. He shouldn't have to holdout, Seahawks should have already rewarded the man.

Yes, career ending injuries happen. But they really don't happen that often to QBs. And I never said that the difference between 1.5 and 50 wasn't significant. My point was just that if the worst were to happen it's not like his life would be over or anything. I would also bet he has some kind of injury insurance in place as well.

I do think Seattle should've just gone ahead and paid him earlier this offseason though. When you finally land a franchise qb you shouldn't mess around and risk fracturing the relationship.
