Old woman...funny story. So this is the day before Thanksgiving about 4 years ago. I decide to go out for a pre-turkey day ride. Coming back into town I am in the bike lane of a two lane road. Going into a intersection of two roads...think a T in the road with me riding and having the right of way. Rule of the road for cyclists, same as motorcyclists is if you have eye contract the driver sees you...if not maybe not. So anyway as I approach the other road I see an older lady driver coming up to the stop sign I can see that she is going to do a "california" stop at the stop sign. But the timing was just right..or rather just wrong and as I past thru the intersection she keeps coming, but as I said she still doesn't see me. Anyway, long story a little shorter she hits me, as I say I could see it coming so I sort of dive onto her hood instead of getting ran over. I land on the hood as she is going onto the main road, and she slams on the brakes vaulting me onto the road. She destroys my 6 thousand dollar bike breaking the frame nearly into. I was knocked out, but was really out of it for a minute of two. She stops of course and starts freaking out crying, yelling about her husband being mad...stuff like that. So the ambulance arrives and they are more worried about her...afraid she is going to have a heart attack so they take her to the hospital and leave me sitting in the road with my destroyed bike. Another GoTitans member GoT lived close by so I call him and get him to pick me up. Had to take myself to the hospital. Bruises, lots of them but nothing broken...other than my bike. Went to the police office to pick up the report for my attorney a few days later and they, they cops, didn't even give her a ticket. True story.

 

It is against the law and dangerous.

 

I'd rather that than a road.
