I could stand to do a bit of fitness training myself but I get a lot more enjoyment out of trolling my neice, the BeachBody Fitness coach.

Apparently the ones here in Nashville are fairly laid back when it comes to the whole lunk alarm and stuff.

Others wont even let people wear sleeveless shirts and what-not.

All depends on what you need a gym for. Their marketing is brilliant.

If you're trying to be a body-builder, it's not for you. Merely trying to stay in shape/toned up- probably best bang for your buck.

PF knows over half their members never come back after a week, but who cancels a $10/month membership ... very very few people

It is a great business plan, but a terrible place to achieve anything in

I joined. It works for me.

I like it better than The Rush (now Gold's Gym) where it was a bunch of meatheads and quiting was like that Friends episode. I finally quit and they were like, "I never thought you would make it here, anyway."

...and I definitely like it better than the YMCA where the facilities are fine, but dudes jerk off each other in the showers.

Not even for those people, it's mainly for older people that don't really want to work out but can feel good about themselves because they have a gym membership. And when they do come once every two weeks, they're not working out, they'll usually do 5 reps on every machine. Or read a book while they pedal 2 MPH on the bike.

    Pretty much.

If you are just looking to get in some weekly exercise it's fine. If you have any kind of body building aspirations though it's definitely not where you wanna be.

Wow.. this place sounds like it sucks.. Glad we have 10 Fitness in central Arkansas. Its $10/mo and its doesnt have any of this goofy mess. Of course they dont want you slamming weights around but if you arent making them rattle, then yeah.. you arent doing much.

The staff dont give you any problems.. they just do their jobs and make sure everyone stays safe.

10 Fitness also works hard to maintain a judge free environment. There will always be the few snobs but for the most part staff and patrons maintain a positive atmosphere.

I dont care how badly out of shape you are.. if youre in the gym putting in work, you deserve respect for that

How does the lunk alarm work anyway? It is automatic or something.. or does a staff member have to press a button?

And who hands out food at a gym?! Keeping a granola bar or something on hand is one thing but Im getting pissed if I find pizza grease all over the equipment.. not only gross, thats dangerous

I disagree. The outdoors still exist. Fresh air, plenty of places to walk/run/stair climb/ do sit-ups,push-ups.

For the staggering price of 0 dollars per lifetime.

Fitness clubs are a money grubbing joke, Unless you are a bodybuilder/power lifter. Making millions off of people's half assed desire to become fit. I bet under 10 percent if club members get their money's worth.

It's like bottled water at walmart... They've "created" a need.
