yes but I think that's next year. June 1st isn't a big deal anymore like it used to be. Currently they can cut someone and push off their signing bonus til the following year if they want. So if player X had 10 mil left of his signing bonus, they don't have to put it against the 2015 cap, but they would have to against the 2016 one. Few teams do this

Huh? If they cut Levitre they get $4.4mil in cap space as I explained (with the math). Not that we need it. We currently have over $25.6mil in cap space. We can certainly sign Mathis without cutting Levitre but I see no reason to keep Levitre in such a scenario and pay him Pro Bowl money as a backup.

If we sign Mathis to a 1 yr prove it contract for say $6.5 fully guaranteed, cut Levitre, it'd cost us 6.5-4.4 or 2.1mil out of our $25.6mil cap space. What's the hold up?

This is as easy as it gets!!!

June 1 vs May 12th means nothing since it is past both dates. The cap gets pushed into 2016.

You are the one that brought up June 1st.
You were wrong about the Tackles.
Now this is the third time you're wrong about Levitre's cap value.
Now you've added that they have 25.6 mil in cap space but that is wrong it is 27.7 mil.
Talking down to me won't make you correct, neither will it make your stats correct. Go to spotrac, do some reading, and quit being condescending of everyone that disagrees with you in this thread

First, I'm not being condescending to anyone except our GM (to whom the comments like...this is as easy as it gets is aimed at).

Second, I didn't mention tackles in my last post so not sure why you're bringing it up. I have a different idea of what I think the Titans should do with those players and they have a different opinion. Thank you for clarifying where which players were playing so far.

Third, I didn't quote Levitre's cap vale. I said what his cap savings would be. As I said in my posts, I'm using numbers from OverTheCap.com so if any numbers I use are incorrect, they are what that website is using. I am quoting them accurately. According to that website, the Titans have a touch over $25.6mil in cap space. And according to that site, if Levitre is cut post-June 1, the Titans will save $4.4mil in cap space ($6.5mil (base salary) - $2.1mil (his Prorated signing bonus for this season)=$4.4mil cap saved if cut now). Not that I mentioned this in my last posts, but according to the same website, Levitre's cap number for this season is tied for highest on the team at $8.6mil. If you think any of this is incorrect, please feel free to point out what the website you are using says.

Lastly, the simple facts are, Levitre is paid like a Pro Bowl OG but plays like a below avg one. There is a Pro Bowl caliber OG available for the same money so I don't see why Webster doesn't pull the trigger. They have a ton of cap space to spend and can use it to upgrade a starting position. Its always a good thing to turn a weakness into a strength!!!

I apologize for any perceived condescension. It is really aimed at our GM and coaching staff, not you.

Poutasi has heavy feet, slow as hell, my thinking at the time was Levitre if nothing else moves well, but IDK, the way we whopped him around last week, he just looks awful. IDK why Atlanta fans are happy with his play, he's still the same guy he was here, but now a slightly better supporting cast..
