This is the 3rd year in a row the Titans are...

And unless we trade the pick away next year will be the fourth year in a row

 

I think it points to front office ineptness. Yeah it doesn't matter as long as it's done by camp, but there has to be a reason we can't get these done at the same pace as other franchises

 

Right now even something as small as Contract Negotiations are a distraction --- we could have a clear line of sight to and through training camp with progress reports being that only paperwork that still needs filed for Mariota.... but --- since we haven't yet --- we approach a training camp performance with an asterisk next to it...

 

We're one of the last teams to kickoff OTAs, and for a specific reason. Surely we hold off on signing our top rookies for a similar reason

 

And that reason is ineptness.

 

Maybe it's the players/agents who have held up the deal? There are things to negotiate...so they're negotiating.

But im sure you've written or been involved in complex professional contracts and got them done and signed same day..

 

So what's more likely? That every year we have issues getting players signed because of players agents? It because the front office is poor? Let's not act like this has only been a 3 year issue either. Same front office that hands Craig Stevens a fat ass contract where even the player states he is surprised by the size. Same front office that allowed bus cook to manipulate them into a situation where we lock our qb out of the facilities damaging our reputation to players around the league.


I know who I think is more responsible but you are free to bury your head in the sand and make excuse after excuse to justify our sucky history in the front office.

 

Is it me or is this NOT the same front office that was in charge during some of the things you just mentioned?

 

You are correct, but seems the organization has the same theme no matter who is running the ship. It's been a longstanding problem.

 

Mariota isnt the type to be worried about when he's away from the team, but holding off on paying a rookie $20M is not a bad move at all....
