CJ hasn't earned a 3rd chance. He bottomed out with us then turned his time in NY into a payday, anyone who watched him closely sees he's at the end of his career. On top of all that add chronic knee problems and a bullet hole to the list of reasons not to sign Johnson.

Coming off a broken leg and a marijuana charge Ahmad Bradshaw is still available, he is without question twice the runner CJ is at this time. Give me the hobbled pot head over CJ any day, he'll fight for you while CJ is getting up 3-yards behind the line...

I couldn't agree more...He runs SO SOFT these days....Useless unless he has a straight path the size of a mac truck.

The average NFL career under 5 years.. so that's probably about average.

I'm assuming Jamie Harper and Zach Clayton are also retired.

I honestly doubt MeJ even wants to play anymore. Dude was all about the fame and the money. And he would not get the attention nor the money that he is used to if he does come back.

We should've traded that fool instead of giving him that monster deal. What a waste.

I HATED the deal then, and especially now....NEVER EVER EVER pay a RB a salary that can cripple your franchise, when their shelf life is 5-7 years generally....Only the Titans FO

I started a thread after the 2K season saying we should trade him while his value was at an all-time high and before we have to break the bank on him. I laid out a few reasons, not the least of which was that his skillset runs completely counter to what was needed for the type of system Fisher insisted on running. Fisher wanted to play ball-control offense but CJ was a homerun hitter... 3, 0, 80yd TD doesn't burn much time off the clock.

Of course I was laughed out of the building but now we can unequivocally say it would've been the right move. If we had a coach who wasn't stuck in the 80's I probably never would've even suggested it though. But at that point it felt like Fisher was gonna be the HC for the next 40 years and CJ just seemed like a wasted asset in the circumstances.
