Dude looked SO promising in his rookie season. A prime example of why you need to wait 3 years to really analyze a draft class. Ayers & McCarthy turned out especially disappointing.

I have no beef with McCarthy though. Dude would have been great if he stayed healthy.

That makes the 2nd Titan from the 2011 class to retire. Wow.

Yup, and now all the "potential" in our WR unit is making myself, and many others feel the same way. Would be nice if this could actually work out for once.

Oh, and **** off to anyone who thinks Sanders is a quitter, that's BS. The dude was a beast and Detroit screwed him over. They forced his hand and robbed fans out of watching the best running back ever.

I think part of why Sanders walked away was because he didn't want to be the one to break Payton's record.
    Classy move if true

What I know about Sanders is he was getting burned out towards the end more so emotionally/mentally than physically.

People to this very day are still pissed he hung it up with so much left in the tank, everyone will always wonder "what if" when it comes to Barry Sanders. I always hate seeing those kinds of guys get wasted on average to crappy teams, we saw first hand what a difference Chris Johnson was with a supporting cast, and then without he was a completely different player.

I never would blame a player for trying but failing because of a crappy situation. Reason I dislike CJ so much now is he wasn't giving his all out there anymore for us. Sanders was smart enough not to taint his legacy doing what CJ did, so good for him for quitting on his terms..
