True, but it's not just his lack of excellence. We all have heard the skuttlebutt from the team, coaches, practice....this guy lacks motivation. The bank he gets paid and wants to soon be paid should be motivation enough. If there is one thing all titan fans should be fed up with is our lack of ability to land a quality#1 receiver. They have all become duds for the last several years. Maybe Hunter is just receiving the worst of us just being over it already.

If his offense is so great why is he unemployed still?

I was just thinking... just the other day, I posted about Vick and his dog fighting, and his being from the same area I grew up in (do not care much for that piece of human excrement). I would go and watch him play though! Iverson is from the same area, and I played him in a pickup 21 game. I lost 21 to 2. Dude was insane, and did not miss a shot, except for the 2 points I scored on a lazy uncontested rebound. He hit every free throw (3 and give it back :whoop:) and I could not keep him in front of me at all. Like lightning really- it is how fast and fluid he was. What I really want to say is, I delivered a pizza to his mothers house (a nice brick semi-mansion a little bit out of the way), and that ***** stiffed me on the delivery. **** that guy and his immediate others!

Cause he's old, hasn't won in a while, and there's better options... but the system he ran is still a solid system in other cities... its not "his" system either, lots of teams all around use parts of that offense

Yes, the nfl has been at that point for some time.

Think about it... You are in charge of fifty three young men. They have been treated like gods their whole lives, coddled, given whatever they want.

Then many of them come from a very poor parental background, where things like work ethic were not taught. What WAS taught, on the street, is to never tolerate disrespect, as that makes you a b!tch. Especially from some old white dude.

But the bottom line is, every player will be receptive to something different. Some need tough in your face treatment. Some need encouragement.

In the modern NFL, a head coaches most important job is figuring out how to reach his players and get them to buy in. And the GM has to help by drafting guys who can be led.

I would think that tough love and embarrassment would serve most players well. The military has used those tactics for a long time. Break them down and build them back up. If they can't hack it, then they just can't hack it.

The military that churns out tons of kids that come home with mental issues?

    Yeah! That never fails!

It gets the job done, and soldiers perform their duties as they are expected to. Same thing works for players on the field. Tough love works DW. I imagine if you had your way, man would have a vagina and squat when he pisses. Raising a land of pussies these days.

But it doesn't always get the job done- that's the thing. Which is why the military isn't near the same as they used to be. I think there's a classic film that's based on it not always working...

    It doesn't always work.

And I'm the type that responds best to harsh/shouting/foam at the mouth type coaching. That's the coach I preferred because that's how I was raised.

But talking to a lot of other athletes - they were the opposite. A lot of them.

Not everyone responds the same way to that type of stuff. As we clearly see.

Full Metal Jacket- classic movie, and I see what you are saying, but Hunter is soft regardless. Hence my saying if they can't hack it, then they can't hack it. The NFL is not a place for soft men. The players may need to have their ego stroked a little, but placating or coddling really shouldn't be used on a professional sports team.
