Battle was faster than Fowler. Battle was a former halfback that we made a FB because he was huge and didn't have a true FB.

If you want to base it on 40 time Battle ran a 4.42 vs a 4.8 for Fowler while Oher ran a 5.34 vs Poutasi's 5.32, but Oher had better feet.

 

Everyone realizes bell had been playing LT, And oher was signed as his replacement at LT. Who was a bust LT in Baltimore and a bust RT in Baltimore and Tennessee right?

Bell was serviceable at RT before being fed to the wolves at LT... There's hope

 

We really arguing over guard and FB speeds? Is this real life?

 

When exactly does FB speed account for anything besides second level blocks (which is primarily on the RB to wait for these to develop)

Most fbs run routes to the flats and simple stuff designed to create area reads and stretch defenses laterally... Again speed is a non issue

I can see a legit issue with slow maulers on the line when you need pulling guards and creative blocks for screens... But that 40 time has little to do with these things.

 

Well see @Fry...that's the info you should put when saying we got slower. Not just weight

 

I'm on the same boat. Whiz supposedly is this great offensive coach (didn't see it last year), but it looks like he's changing his ways to best suit his playmakers. Offense might actually be fun to watch this year haha

 

Makes me think he never believed in Jake Locker to not adapt to his style

 

I mean... they drafted one of the best rushing quarterbacks in football and a beast of a wide receiver in the second round.

But by all means judge the speed of the offense off a fullback.
