I think one common angle in film is that the black hole is a dimensional portal and that like a Star Trek transporter you reassemble molecular-ly on the other side. The movie Event Horizon infers the the portal is to hell and does so in a pretty frightening fashion. It's hard to watch any of these without imagining that outcome after seeing that flick..

I can't think of a better rounded movie than Interstellar in recent times...

    It crushed in every aspect.

I love Inception also- but I don't think it's a worthy comparison. Not as an overall piece.

Not sure but I think I heard that Kip Thorne advised on that one also.
When I saw Interstellar I didnt notice that the physics message was that a black hole singularity was a sphere...a 3 dimensional hole that one could fall into from any direction.
I still have trouble with the relativity of time, and and in an interview I heard with a singularity specialist yesterday she said that there is most likely another physics law yet to be discovered which keeps a being unable to exist in two times at once.

The description posed by scientists is that since time becomes relative to distance from a singularity, if you jumped into one feet first you'd be watching your feet dissolve in slomo and gradually up your body as you fall in. Your brain would perceive it as happening gradually faster as it gets closer to the surface. So it wouldn't be a quick jump and finish; it's be more like getting in line at the DMV.

Here is a great quick video on extra dimensions outside of of the 3 we perceive in our daily lives:

I watched Montage of Heck last night. The most recent documentary on Kurt Cobain.

Every review was glowing, but I hated it. Defended Courtney Love way too much. I've also never been much of a fan of directors using his journals either, and that was the biggest aspect of the film.

I was disappointed with it as well. Had a very emo vibe to it which was a turnoff for me. And I just wasn't a fan of the overall style/direction of it. On the other hand, his story has been done to death so I at least applaud the filmmakers for trying something different.... even though it didn't necessarily land for me.
