I knew this would be a bicycle thing Anyway, the arm...................... That will require some heavy surgery
Didn't watch, but the grossest thing I ever saw: We had a tiny wrestling room in high school, and we were doing drills. I took the guy I was working with down, and then one of the heavy weights fell on us. The guy with me says "Ah" real nonchalantly, so I figure he just got hit. I get up while the guy is still on him and see blood on my shirt, and was like "That's odd". Look down, and the kids fingers are touching his forearm, with the bone jutting out. He sees it, immediately goes into shock. He got surgery, never came back to practice, lol.
I I wrestled for one season in HS....decided I like eating better. Tough sport no doubt however. Not as hard as cycling but tough also.
I'm not going to rag on you about cycling like a lot of people here. But it is an endurance sport. Like cross country running. It just is what it is. The training is hard and all, and it requires mental toughness, but it is part of a tried and true process that comes with endurance sports. Complete a time in training. Replicate it in competition. Wrestling is more competitive and more destructive on the body. Also, in my experience, no one really knows how much confidence, toughness, and grit they have until they have to step on a mat and essentially fight someone 1 on 1 to the point of exhaustion.
Oh, I agree. Wrestling is hard, takes a extreme amount of mental toughness...probably more than physical. Like I said...did it one year, don't remember my exact weight class but I was a sophomore so I would guess somewhere around 115 lbs. or so. I just remember having to not eat on the day of matches, spitting into a cup and really not enjoying it all that much. Feeling hungry all the time. Exact opposite in cycling...I eat about 3000-4000 cal. per day and burn all of them and then some. I have two races Saturday....I will probably burn over 5000 calories.
